Grey's Anatomy

Re: Grey's Anatomy Cast Fuming Over Kate Walsh Spinoff

So for all the discussion about Taye Diggs being bad luck and the black/white thing not being accepted, I think if the sequel goes ahead, it will tank because the writing sucks. Tonight's two part "pilot" was dreary and dull. Did anyone notice that the whole Addison in L.A. storyline involved around sex?

Taye Diggs' character, btw, has a black ex-wife on the show, but I got the impression he has feelings for Addison.

Plus, I also wasn't impressed with one of Diggs' lines: "Don't talk about your penis when hugging another guy." Subtle homophobia...

I thought the LA portion of the episode went fine. Don't forget Grey's started with lots of sex as well and it still revolves around who's sleeping with who. One intriguing character from the spinoff is Cooper though.. a mixture of comedy and dramatics that none of Shonda Rhimes' other male character processes.

Re: Grey's Anatomy Cast Fuming Over Kate Walsh Spinoff

I quite liked the La story last night and liked it even more once they explained the Addison elevator craziness, that was throwing me off all episode.

And i could use more of the surfer dude, HOT, HOT.

The penis comment wasn't necessary, didn't sit well with me, it was just out of place, they could have written something else for him to say or give him a facial reaction.

Weird seeing "Kellerman" from Prison Break, playing a totally different character. When i see him all i see is him in PB.

Almost cried when Addy found out sh couldn't have babies.

But even though i liked it, it didn't hook me, and it had a feeling of cancellation written all over it. Addison is my fave on GA but i am not sure her character can carry on entire show, besides i didn't see any real chemistry between her and the new cast.

With Grey's Anatomy the entire cast clicked right away it just felt like a family and thus you start to care about the characters and have a new favorite show.

But its still early maybe it was a rough draft to see how viewers would respond.

Re: Grey's Anatomy Cast Fuming Over Kate Walsh Spinoff

I'm still in shock that

*spoilers*

Meredith's stepmom died! Good lord that was out of nowhere and I nearly cried! That's so fucked up on so many levels, I'm really pissed at the writers of GA for killing secondary characters like they were cattle.

Re: Grey's Anatomy Cast Fuming Over Kate Walsh Spinoff

What would be the name of the new show?

Montgomery-Sheppard-Sloan's Anatomy? :?

Re: Grey's Anatomy Cast Fuming Over Kate Walsh Spinoff

I don't care about the drama or the name of the show... I just want to see Tim Daly having lots and lots of sex ;)

LOL.. black ex-wife. I think she does have a name? Or did you forget? BTW what is the big deal about Taye Diggs having feelings for Addison.. you don't want to see black/white relations on TV :D

Re: Grey's Anatomy Cast Fuming Over Kate Walsh Spinoff

Oh, in addition to Tim Daly having lots of sex, I would like Taye Diggs to have lots of sex as well! It would be wonderful!

Re: Grey's Anatomy Cast Fuming Over Kate Walsh Spinoff

I just want Taye to take off his shirt. Thats the main reason i watched "Daybreak"

Re: Grey's Anatomy Cast Fuming Over Kate Walsh Spinoff

I really liked the Addison storyline. Though did anyone else kinda get a "Summerland" feel to the show(not only cause Merrin Dungey(naomi) but i dunno the look of the show...and although they weren't all living together they were all working together...it had the same kind of feel without the kids running around.

but yeah...I didn't know any of the cast besides Kate Walsh and Taye Diggs before I watched the show but i was surprised with how good the case was....Tim Daly, Amy Brenneman and Merrin Dungey. I would definitely give it a chance when it airs cause I love Addison's character.

and yeah I don't know why the rest of the cast is mad about it...seriously a)why would they want to leave this successful show b) how in the world do they think they would do it with any of their characters they are all involved with each other. Addison is really the only one that could be lifted out of the story and it wouldn't really upset the show that much since all her storylines have kinda all led to this point. No one else would be able to leave right now besides Sloan and his character really hasn't been developed as much as Addison's to be able to carry a show. And fuckin' Ellen Pompeo needs to shut the fuck up...I want her off the show I wanted the bomb to blow her up...i wanted her to sleep with the fishes....every time she's on the screen i roll my eyes and tune out...her storylines are all boring and whiny and she's a bad actress. I've really hated her ever since I was at a Dashboard Confessional show 2 years ago and she introduced them(it was a free Half.com show) and she was either drunk or high...she comes out on stage doesn't introduce herself and starts rambling about Half.com and how you can buy books at your desk while you're getting high...and then she asked if we were ready to see Dashboard Confessions and she got boooed and then someone shouted out "Aren't you the chick from Old School?!" and she's like yeah i am everyone watch Grey's Anatomy BYE!"

stupid bitch i hate her...haha

Hello? What are you on Mars or Jupiter? I never said or even suggested that I didn't want to see black/white relationships on tv. All I said was that it seemed as if the Taye Diggs character had feelings for Addison.

Furthermore, if you actually read and understood my post you'd know that I hated the spin-off concept and therefore couldn't give a fuck what the ex-wife's name was. The whole black/white issue was a response to posts earlier in this thread.

Cheers. :grrr:

Actually, the original started with sex between Derek and Meredith, but no other characters. This "show" every character seemed more obsessed with sex than with medicine. I felt it was a bit too much.

Re: Grey's Anatomy Cast Fuming Over Kate Walsh Spinoff

I wasn't a fan of the episode. I know Grey's is silly and has silly plotlines but there's just something about it that grabs me. Meanwhile, this 'Private Practice' was silly and you actually notice how silly and goofy it is, not in a good way. I kept thinking these 30-40 year old people acted more immaturely than I do at 20. They felt like cartoon characters. Yuck.

Re: Grey's Anatomy Cast Fuming Over Kate Walsh Spinoff

Wow, that was hard to sit through. Kate Walsh looked terrific, but there was nothing in her interactions with her 'new' cast that even had a hint of the character we'd gotten to know in "Grey's". The elevator scenes were awkward and heavy-handed, the newbies weren't terribly interesting, and the 'eye candy' wasn't nearly as hot as the writers would have us believe (maybe they need an eye doctor at the Center?). Sadly, having liked Addison on 'Grey's', I think the spin-off will diminish both shows.

Re: Grey's Anatomy Cast Fuming Over Kate Walsh Spinoff

I agree. It would have been an interesting turn for the show if she would have died; but, with a few exceptions, shows that are doing good on tv aren't likely to kill off any of their main cast...

Well, it might have been interesting if they hadn't killed her mother, but without the "grey" what's the point in "Grey's Anatomy"?

Re: Grey's Anatomy Cast Fuming Over Kate Walsh Spinoff

Grey's Anatomy is also the title of a book written by one Dr. Grey (a man), and still counts as one of the most important books that med. students have to read and study from. So, the title is a double one (and a bit of an insiders joke, since many people never even heard of the book.)

D'uh! I'm not stupid. That's exactly my point. The whole idea of the show centres around that play on words. So let me repeat: Without a Dr. Grey, the title of "Grey's Anatomy" is pointless.

Tonights episode was so good

I felt sorry for the guy holding the munition at the end. And no one spoke about him and his colleague.

i agree...it was very weird they didn't mention him at all after he blew up....very weird to me...it was like it never happend...but i love grey's anatomy alot....
