I have the movie in my computer and watched the first couple of minutes and I love opening song but.....

John was horrible as Edna. I am sorry but Edna is not a "always hungry, fat and happy housewife".

If I remember she should be this mean white trash mom.

I didn't like John in the role either...but after hearing an interview with him he said when they came to him he said that he would only do the role if they would let him play the role as a woman and not as a man playing a woman...like he wanted people to think it was a woman instead of how Divine and Harvey Firestien played her....which I guess I respect he wanted to make the character his own....but still Edna is Edna....and John didn't play the original Edna character
