Harper's Island -- will you be watching?

yes i will be watching it, but rumors are already flying that it might cancel before it starts
 
this show is amazing. it is the only thing i have ever watched that i have not figured out the plot. everyone hates watching movies with me because i always figure them out. fairly quickly. i can't believe this show is not a bigger hit. of course, it is on cbs. which is crazy.

but, i think i have the other killer figured out. i have been thinking it for a minute. but, we shall see. in two weeks.
 
My friends, family, and myself are all addicted to this show. I can't believe CBS only gave it 2 weeks before moving it to the saturday graveyard. The plan had been to do a yearly mystery show, but with its low ratings the director recently tweeted that, sadly, this is now a one and out series.

I've got all kinds of theories:

1) Jimmy is the son (hence, Wakefield saved him), but Henry is the accomplice.

2) Sulley is the son because of the strong physical/facial appearance and the fact that Wakefield told Chloe that "I once nearly died for a woman like you"....he tormented Chloe (and Cal) because he knew his son, Sulley, had the hots for this flirtatious woman. Sulley is not the accomplice, however, I still think that is Henry.

3) Henry is the son and accomplice. My, he does look a lot like Abby...and he's protective of her in a big brother kind of way. And note in this most recent episode that he would not let her kill Wakefield.

So, my problem is I'm not sure which one of my theories I'm buying:confused:.
 
Been watching it on-line due to summer activities & slight chance i might forget to watch it
 
sully is the son. i was thinking he was the killer for a bit. then wakefield showed up. and they revealed he had a child. so, i still think sully is the killer.

he is the one who got rid of the boat while cal was knocked out.
he let cal live to help get chloe.

sully wanted chloe. that is why wakefield didn't kill her. he wasn't going to kill her at all.

that is why he kept saying he wanted what cal and chloe had.
he resembles wakefield.

chloe made the comment last night about people pretending to be nice but are really evil. sully has been the knight in white armor the last few episodes.

henry would not have killed his own brother or uncle. or trish or abby. no way.

jimmy is going to confess to abby that he and her dad knew about wakefield. or that trish is still alive. i believe she is going to presume to be dead. and jimmy is the obvious person. so you know it is not him.

but, in the previews, trish is running in her wedding dress. so, that kind of throws me off. maybe sully wanted trish and chloe. i don't know.
 
I think I'm most sold on Henry being both Wakefield's child and the accomplice.

However, I failed to mention one other plausible theory...and that is, Shea. She could certainly be Wakefield's child, and Abby's half-sister. Perhaps, long ago the Wellingtons could not have children, and adopted her from Sara/WF. Then, lo' and behold, they can have a child...Trish. So, they forget about more Shea and she has a chip on her shoulder. Plus, Madison's "friend" is, as we all know, Wakefield, who would actually be her grandfather. Also, notice how Shea gets very defensive everytime Abby, Trish, Chloe try to proble Madison on what happened despite when she was 'kidnapped' ; since the fact that information at this juncture is life or death, one would think Shea would be desperately curious. Plus, she looks like she is not so nice a person and see how her Dad (WF) harpooned her cheating husband, Richard, and hung him to a tree....perhaps a little revenge.
 
I FUCKING LOVE THIS SHOW!!! LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!

Read somewhere the summary and I was like "Hmm...sounds promising!" and boy am I glad I downloaded that first episode. I was hooked immediately!

About who's the killer...I suspect Henry. Sully was about to leave the island remember? So that alone makes me believe he ain't the killer. Henry is, IMO, at least, the accomplice.


Btw, Chloe and Cal dying was pretty fucking sad. I wanted to shove that shotgun so far up Wakefield's ass so bad!
 
I agree this show is great! I have been hooked since i saw the previews months ago. I wish it got better ratings. I wonder what went wrong. However, the deaths of Chloe and Cal were the saddest to me. I think the whole directing of the episode was great. I still cannot believe that nobody could shoot WF with all the fucking shotguns everyone had. Cannot wait for next next weeks finale.
 
I must be in the minority because I think this show is truly awful. It is unbearable to watch. I have been DVRing it only because everything else is in repeats. It's like it was written by teenage girls. I especially hate the main girl with her beady little eyes. I know it is TV but everything is completely ridiculous and unbelievable. Your dad gets murdered by a chandelier and you're still gonna get married? Gimme a break
 
it's not henry. or jimmy. and shea was so worried about madison. so, it isn't her. sully is the guy. i am sure of it. but, i may be eating my words in two weeks.

Still gonna get married? I don't know what show you've been watching but they didn't get married and their relationship was nearly destroyed.
 
Anyone actually like Danny? Im suprised he lasted this long lol. I mean lets face it, minorities never last this long in these shows/movies so im pretty shocked. I like Danny the most out of all the guys left, he has something likable about him. I felt so bad for him in the diner when he almost lost it. I really want him to survive this but judging the previews for the next episode, he looks like a goner. Who fights Wakefield and actually survives? I would love for Danny to be the accomplice, I mean his skin color alone is enough to make ppl not consider him. LOL. His portrayer is hott too.

The final 8 and I like them all but if I had to choose, Henry and Abby can die lol.

It looks like Sully escapes with Madison and Shea on a little boat in that preview they showed or they die?

I hope the final 4 arent Jimmy, Trish , Abby and Henry. THAT IS SO PREDICTABLE!!!

As for the show? Loved Chloe. She went out with a bang. Here is hoping she is alive but I enjoyed her with Cal. The best eppy yet if you ask me, They are some terrible shots though lol. Abby? Cal? cant shoot a gun to save there life. How come Trish didn't attempt to shoot Wakefield? That was suspect.

Looking forward to the finale, Not lookin forward to Danny's death. (To sad)
 
^I like Danny. He's my favorite after Jimmy.The first episode I was like the black guy's definitely not gonna make it. I figured he wouldnt make it past the first episode tbqh. Maybe they'll try to do something different but I doubt it.

I guess I'm liking it now that Ive seen the latest. Sully needed to die ages ago. He's just so obnoxious. I dont care if he cleaned up his act in recent episodes, he sucks.

I think the only awesome ending would be if Trish was Wakefield's seed.
 
Bah, I wanted to watch this show after constantly hearing the commercial girl say, "One by one" I think. lol

IT seems interesting, but I completely forgot about it. I'll check it out sometime

He annoys me sometimes too...but then he's quite easy on the eyes. *|*
 
I think Henry is kinda sexy.

HI has been a fun whodunit program...very different from all the other crap (reality shows) on TV. I've found it very suspenseful. And so many critics didn't like the writing, yet there is absolutely no consensus on the final outcome, which tells me the writers did their job.

As for the low ratings, it averaged 10 million on the two Thursday night episodes...then only 3.5 million on the TV graveyard called Saturday night. CBS was not happy with 10 million, but many networks like Fox , CW, HBO would have been elated. Thursdays at 10pm is a highly competitive timeslot back during sweeps to premiere a show that was a bit confusing and convulted when they're trying to introduce 25 characters in one hour.

I think there is a place on TV for this kind of 13 episode suspense drama that promises closure.
