Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2

He doesn't strike me as an Arthur type but I'd probably watch that series for Eva Green alone.

:D

Woohoo. It's one month away and the second trailer looks FANTASTIC (despite that jumping off the roof scene)!

[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5NYt1qirBWg[/ame]

I am waaaaaay excited!!

Again, I'm surprised by all of the spoilers they put into the trailer. I guess the filmmakers are just assuming that everyone by now has either read the last book or already knows how it's going to end.

Either way, Part II looks like it's going to be quite the satisfying end indeed. I can't wait. :D

I'm sure in the context of the movie, that scene is going to be amazing. ;)

Moe, I can see you're a "glass is half full" kinda guy!

I am hopeful...but I've been hurt by the HP movie franchise before.

:D

I'm not at all looking forward to it. Her publishers already kind of rained on that parade and said that the announcement will NOT be about a new book.

So since it's not, I can't bring myself to really care.

Agreed - if it's not another book - it will be some sort of tie in to milk more money from the series.

Uhh, I’m pretty sure an encyclopedia/guidebook would count as a new book. ;)

And besides, Rowling herself said it would be at least ten years before she would even begin such a project and almost as much time to complete it.

I agree. Entertainment Weekly speculated that Rowling’s going to announce a multiplayer online role-playing game like World of Warcraft. Given the clues we have thus far, I'm pretty sure that their speculation is correct. :(

But fingers crossed anyway that the announcement might be the Potterpedia. ;)

^Me seeing the glass "half-full" again.

I think the "half-full" ship has sailed. Your glass is overflowin'.

:D

I’m really satisfied with the idea of permanently ending Harry’s story with Deathly Hallows. After seven books, I don’t need to know anything else about his life.

If she was to continue writing about this universe, I rather her focus on one of the more mysterious characters from the book. Like Dumbledore, for instance. I would just love it if she wrote a book that chronicled his early years and the possible romance between him and Grindelwald. B/c out of all the characters, the HP series really glossed over Dumbledore’s past. They never really explained why Dumbledore was the greatest wizard existence ever known. I wished they would have delved in more to his earlier victories and triumphs to really illustrate that point instead of leaving the readers to just accept it.

I don't want to see more Harry Potter at middle-age. That epilogue was a travesty! I've read fanfiction that was better. What was she thinking?!

I agree that any other books should focus on different characters. Like Harry's parents and the first war with Voldemort. There were bits and pieces about this scattered throughout but a more fulsome account would be good.

Will be seeing part 1 and 2 tomorrow in the theater. I've seen part 1 like 20 times but friends and I found a theater having a double feature.

I am pretty excited to watch this movie! =D Me and friend are going Friday. We were gonna do the midnight release, but we get so tired and it's gonna be packed....

Just back from the movie.
I have 293801983901 complaints.
The book was 21039129031290 times better.
They left out 203912 scenes.

But I loved it.
Cried, laughed, bah, lmy childhood is just over.
HP seriously has had one of the biggest influences of my life. Read the 1st when I was 7, I bought and completely read each of the last 3 books on the day they were released, re-read each one dozens of times, played all the games (all the early ones at least) over and over, know all the characters, got 197/200 in the sporcle quiz :P Made up books about HP, wrote stories influenced by it, grew up being the same age, experiencing the same morals and choices to a lesser extent.
Gah I'm ranting.
So sad it's over.

Thank you JK Rowling, my life would be so different without it.

Sorry to those who think this is melodramatic, believe me, it's not.

I was incredibly with this movie (along with part 1). Did the book so much justice, in fact, it makes me wonder if JK wrote the book with the movie version in mind! At any rate, a fantastic film!!
NOT MY DAUGHTER, YOU BITCH!

I saw this a couple of days ago. I thought it did a pretty good job in bringing the series to a close.

Neville is a BAMF. :) Glad to see that he did get his props in this one like the book. It would have sucked if they changed that part of the story. Nevilles character to me would have been more interesting as the chosen one than HP.

Just got back from watching the movie; even at nine in the morning the theaters were packed. I caught the IMAX 3D version (nothing else would do for me). Put simply I was blown away. The battles were epic, the characters were badass (Neville Longbottom ftw!), and everything came together beautifully. There might have been a couple of things omitted from the book--well one thing in particular--but it doesn't detract from the awesomeness that was part 2 of HP7. I'm probably going to watch it at least 2 or 3 more times in the coming weeks, and I feel no shame in that. As for the final showdown between Harry and Tom, it was definitely a good call to make it more dramatic. It gave the confrontation the gravity it deserved.

And on a totally unrelated topic: Harry and Ron show a little skin--so, those of us so inclined will get our jollies. I heart Ron Weasley.

Saw it at midnight last night and was blown away. Will see it again this weekend in 3D. Amazing movie experience.

The movie was great, but as usual I wanted a little more. Especially at the end, more about how all of them ended up. The Snape scene was right on, people around me were crying, it was great.

Haha, I remem Mrs. Weasely saying that. XD And then people clapping shortly afterwards.

Great movie! I also agree that these last two films have been the greatest Harry Potter films and really ended in a perfect way. Started watching at 10 and ended watching at 20.
Goodbye, you great series!
