not many, the only one i can think of off the top of my head is i am sam, but usually movies and shows dont do much for me, books on the other hand..

imitation of life, 1959, lana turner - sandra dee. this movie will clean out your sinus. when sarah jane tells her mom that she doesn't want her come around anymore so others won't know she's black, if you keep a dry eye then you have no soul.

I totally agree, this movie would get my vote.

Oh geez, tons of them.

Brokeback Mountain. Titanic. Romeo and Juliet. Places of the Heart. The Color Purple (side-by-side with BBM as my favorite movie). The last episode of M*A*S*H. A few episodes of The Mary Tyler Moore Show. The Return of the King.

Even books ... Lord of the Rings in book form made me cry. When the elves left Middle Earth, I broke down like a baby.

Songs do it, too. I get misty-eyed at Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You". But the killer for me is U2's "One" ... I can't listen to that in the car because I can't see through the tears.

Yep, hotdog's a softie. ;)

And the episode of Lost where Boone died made me cry too.
I was fine until they started playing that damn piano music. Then it was a steady flow of tears.

Many TV shows and movies have made me cry. I dare anyone to watch Extreme Makeover Home Edition to not tear up when they bring a disadvantaged family home to a beautiful house.

I cried like a baby when Scrooge bought that huge turkey, doubled Bob Crachit's salary and paid for Tiny Tim's operation ....... I mean, can you imagine how much money that cost him! ;)

Interesting post Jordy03.....

Well since I wear my emotions on my sleeve there are lot's of movies that make me cry... I just try to do it when I'm by myself. Not watching them with others.

The movie Latter Days always seems to do it for me. When the two gay guys meet at the airport and go to the motel room to make love....

I've even been known to shed a tear watching Fried Green Tomatoes. The two friends are women but it could as easily been about two guys. The story is mainly about friendship and love. Loving your best friend. I've experienced that and this movie brings it all back.

I don't remember crying over a TV show but I don't doubt it may have happened.

My God, where do I begin  ???

Off the top of my head, these are the ones that really tear me up and being the glutton for punishment that I am, I have them on DVD and will watch them again and again:

(1) The Color Purple

(2) Selena

(3) Imitation of Life (1934 AND 1959) - The '59 version is better - probably because I saw it first - the '34 version has a slightly different storyline but the I-wanna-be-white daughter and elaborate funeral still takes place.

(4) Ghost

LMAO! I remember seeing it and being like "WTF?" at that scene.

After all of the build-up, all of the anticipation...and that was what happened? I couldn't believe my eyes or my ears. That scene really seemed like something that would've been in a parody of Star Wars, not something that was legitimately part of the movie!
one thing i could have really gone for in that movie was JarJar Binks' funeral. that might have partly made up for the crappy ending, but it would still take alot more to make up for the absolutely horrible acting by christenson as darth vader.

Many, but just quickly for TV--the last episode of Six Feet Under, and for a film A.I. and, I'm ashamed to say, My Dog Skip. !oops!

^ Don't be ashamed about My Dog Skip

Everyone cries in that one.

Thanks for remembering it.

TOTALLY.

Just last week I was "babysitting" my teenage nieces so I dragged this one off the shelf and made them watch it, first time I had seen it again in years, first time they had ever seen it.

Tears all round. A bonding moment.

Beautiful film.

Good to hear that. I was worried about myself. I told the BF that it was just because the moon was in Pisces that night. Really, I was so embarrassed, thinking only the most gullible could be manipulated into crying about this. But, it completely tore me up inside... I don't even want to think about it now.....

I think everyone has cried in movies even if they dont admit it , i can remember as a young boy ( think i was 4 or 5) i can remeber crying for ages after mufasa died in the lion king lol , the most recent though is probably buffy the vampire slayer , there are many teary episodes and also the themes in that show are like a giant metaphor for me at times , so i ball my eyes out haha

Many times I've been there with you. It was when I first saw the episode "The Body" that I began to take the show seriously.

Also, there are so many times when I get a rush of excitement, that hair-standing-up feeling, watching Buffy.

Why no Emmy's, I'll never know.... One of television's best shows ever!

Yeah, I'm a sap. I can cry pretty easily at the movies, so it is no big deal to me. I just let them flow. However, watching "World Trade Center" was the only one I can remember crying all the way through. What a drain on me by the time it was over.
