Has a movie/TV show ever made you cry?

Brokeback Mountain. Titanic. Romeo and Juliet. Places of the Heart. The Color Purple (side-by-side with BBM as my favorite movie). The last episode of M*A*S*H. A few episodes of The Mary Tyler Moore Show. The Return of the King.

Even books ... Lord of the Rings in book form made me cry. When the elves left Middle Earth, I broke down like a baby.

Songs do it, too. I get misty-eyed at Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You". But the killer for me is U2's "One" ... I can't listen to that in the car because I can't see through the tears.

I'll second most of those -- including the book; I remember going "nonononono!" with tears trickling down when the elves left. It seemed so WRONG!

The only song that makes me cry every time is a contemporary Christian one, I can't remember who by, called "Friends".

Oh, and Star Trek III, when the Enterprise gets vaporized entering the atmosphere.

Oh my. I thought I was the only one.

Worse yet was Star Trek II when Spock died. Man, that one killed me.

There was also LOTR: The Fellowship of the Ring when Gandalf fell in battle. I had not read the book prior so I did not know how he would return. But damn! I was really down when I saw that. :(

Gandalf: I had read the book, and that scene still got me in the flick! It was most excellently done!

Spock: when I saw that I turned to my buddy and raised one eyebrow. He looked at me and said, "Fascinating". After the movie we started playing with ideas on how they'd bring him back -- we were that confident.

When Data sacrificed himself, though.... I think I'm still in shock!

I'm just a total sap when it comes to crying at tv shows and movies. Too many to count!

Me too! I take an extra hanky with me every time I go to the movies, "just in case." I have noticed that more and more things set me off; things that didn't used to bother me I find myself a blubbering mess! !oops!

imitation of life, 1959, lana turner - sandra dee. this movie will clean out your sinus. when sarah jane tells her mom that she doesn't want her come around anymore so others won't know she's black, if you keep a dry eye then you have no soul.

That movie was a real tear jerker.
