  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but

i think you need to smoke fabs. i got some FIRE!!!
j/k...you ain't put in on this shit man.

i hear what you're saying though, and it alot of cases it's true. personally, i TRY not to think about it...thanks for that..| i can always count on you to a brotha's buzz;)

But this could also be said of Latin gay men as well as many other gay people with a strong religious background.

OKAY am i the only brotha on here that gets pissed off when i read this post?! i mean what the fucking hell?!! i can't damn stand when black guys sit here and make generalized assumptions about races... esp their own race..... and no it doesn't make you look smart to sit back and try to have a smart convo about stereotypes... this is just fucking stupid pardon my language. but everyone gay or str8 at some point in time in their lives hates themselves for whatever reason, secondly through my exp the first gay men that i ended up befriending where black! i still talk to them this day and no i haven't had sex with all of them.. I've been with both white and black men, yea some people don't date outside of their race but fuck em' i mean why bother if they are so shallow as to look at skin color as a major factor in finding someone to date.. What you need to realize is that yes this is a forum and NO this is not a reflection of what gay society is like in real life..

and for the record what the hell would sexual orientation have to do with damn school?!! like what, sexual education wasn't enough? we talked about EVERYTHING and this was while i was in sixth grade.. get it together gah!

Speak for yourself mate.

But I know about more than "myself." I actually pay attention to what's going around me. You'd be surprised what you can learn when you tear yourself away from the mirror for more than 5 minutes.

Wow. Glad you got all that bullshit outta your system, it's not good to walk around carryin' that much of a load.

Your head had to have been up some poor woman's snatch for the past two decades to not understand what I'm talking about. There's a difference between generalizing and making cultural observations. The ones I mentioned here are elementary and frankly, as a black gay man, I'd be EMBARRASSED to NOT recognize these dynamics.

Now.. do me a favor. Take some sociology classes, learn something about something and try again.

I find this post pretty racist.

You've GOT to be kidding me. I figure you would be the last person so sensitive about his ethnicity that he'd ignore something as OBVIOUS as what I'm talking about.

Your generalizing WAYYY too much.

There's that word again. "Generalizing." Call it what you want, if I'm pulling this out of thin air at least offer something more substantial than 'You're wrong 'cuz you're wrong.'

What am I wrong about? Are we too busy shaking our asses to homophobic reggaeton artists to see what's going on? Let's be frank. If a bunch of white gays went to a rock concert where the band played anti-gay songs, what would they do? Probably walk out. But go to a black gay club and throw on a dancehall song about murdering "fags" and what do they do? Pop their bussies like it's the greatest thing since cooked food.

I'm kind of disappointed

I should say the same. I'm disappointed at how unaware some of you guys are. ](*,) This is how these problems perpetuate, not just ignoring them but going so far as to take offense at the very suggestion.

Are you sure you aren't the only one seeing it though? Of all the black men who have come in here, I don't think one has agreed with you. And if anything, you are offending people more than "bringing light" to something.

You can never trust that a message board is an accurate or even close description to real life.

I am sure this is a real problem, but it might be only a problem in your area? Cause seriously, never seen anything like your describing in your OP.

Oh, well I MUST be wrong then.

And if anything, you are offending people more than "bringing light" to something.

Honey offending people is easier than gettin' head at a bath house. It happens.

You can never trust that a message board is an accurate or even close description to real life.

I mentioned a helluvalot more than a message board.

I am sure this is a real problem, but it might be only a problem in your area?

You're not serious, are you?

Cause seriously, never seen anything like your describing in your OP.

Ahhh, the inevitable "I've never seen it" argument. I've never seen jerked chicken or Canada so I guess neither of those exist either.

Perhaps it'll serve my purpose to post articles and statistics from reporters and experts that agree with me. For some reason an idea that's outrageous from one person becomes credible when it's in a news article. The level of ignorance in this thread is making my bussy itch.

Black churches that perform regular exorcisms? Of all the black churches in Houston, and this is a big damn city, I don't think one of those exist. And Houston is considered the "black city" of Texas. Do you like go on road trips to find these special churches or something?

I am an observant person, but I guess I didn't look hard enough. meh, give me the links and information.

This thread ignores brown people.

I know some people who hate their sexuality but I don't think it's because of religion. They are afraid to lose their family and the society that supports them. It may look like religion is to be blamed here, but really, it's all about family and acceptance.

I know this is OOT but fuck, is it me or is that lucky7 dude hot hot hot?

This offers an unbiased, educational perspective on homosexuality but even at that age they've already had years of "You ain't no faggot is you?" or "Ewwww that nigga gay!" and "You're going to hell unless you knock up that girl Keisha in the next building over."

Based on that part of your thread I'd say that those you are writing about should be taught to speak and write English properly.
Far more important in a kids life to learn how to write and speak, hell that means the difference between going to college and getting a good jub... vs. just walking around and sounding like a stupid guy that cannot write nor speak correctly.

There are many gay black guys around that are happy and live happy lives.. I've met several on jub... In each case they have gone to college or gotten some sort of post highschool education.

I don't think a strong religious background quite equals the same thing as growing up black, poor and religious, but I do agree with you about Latinos. Especially since there are similar cultural and economic implications between the two groups.

I'm not a black man so I can not speak as one. I have many black friends and all have different stories about coming out etc. But then doesnt everyone? I have many white friends that cant come out to their families for fear of being cut off. So is this a color issue or a sexuality issue?

*sigh*

just... *sigh*

Unaware? It's a problem for some and you should say that.

I figured it was implied. As I've stated two or three times now, there are exceptions.

Point out a specific group in the gay black community.

Huh?

But to start off with "gay black men hate themselves". WTF are you trying to accomplish by saying that? Do you really believe that?

Yup. It's disheartening, you're a sick fool if you think I get a kick outta this but it's the truth, at least for anyone who's actually paying attention.

The majority of black gay people I know do not fit your description.

Are you boys completely oblivious to the world outside your social circle? ](*,) None of the people I associate with are like this either. In fact I can count on one hand the number of gay friends of all colors that I have. Since you guys clearly lack even a basic understanding of what I'm talking about, I don't even know where to begin. Here's a start. It'd be nice to discuss this with someone who knows what they're talking about.

At first it was funny but now it's downright discouraging. No wonder this is so problematic, we're too busy crying at the truth to even acknowledge it. We've got a looooooong road ahead of us. #-o

There are also many smokers who never get lung cancer. There are many promiscuous people who have unprotected sex but never get HIV. What happened in America that when presented with a problem, instead of discussing it, our sensitivities kick in and we revert to "Well, not everyone is like that."

Nik, I can always count on you to help a brotha out when he's dealing with people who don't know what they're talking about.

In these guys' defense, they obviously don't pay attention to these kinda things so it's unsurprising that what's common knowledge to you and I is a complete shocker to them.

God bless you for actually paying attention to the world. Guys like you give me hope. (*8*)
