  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Have you aged well..?

Ok this is against my better judgment. But here goes. One picture was me around 19 or so. And the other when I turned 40 not too long ago. I'm still crying over it.

Anyway, not used to exposing myself like this. Hopefully this doesn't come back and bite me in the arse.

Probably one of my biggest regrets in life is not finding the gym life a lot sooner in life. I had no muscle back then. Just skin and bone. Had I gotten into the gym life sooner in life, I'd be a lot bigger now.

How do you think I've aged?

Bulking up won't keep you from ageing. Good diet and moderate exercise should do some good.

But I have pointed out to you before. You are a victim of your genetics.

You've aged well. Let me add: good-looking then, good-looking now, but you'd be better looking if you leaned up. While I'm sure the muscle is there, you're carrying too much bulk for this to be apparent. The goal shouldn't be looking big, the goal should be looking muscular. Take a look at Thomas Delauer's YouTube vids on gaining muscle and avoiding fat.

Ya, I really need to lean up a bit. Been dirty bulking for too long. Good thing I'm not in the market at all.

I was born exactly 37 years ago (local time). My potential calls me a stud. 🤭

My body is a temple? no, my body is an old car. Battered by careless use at 55 I have lung damage from 40/60 a day smoking habit. even after 24 years clean. A fatty liver from excess alcohol consumption. Carpal tunnel in both hands, tennis elbow both sides and a broken ac joint that I can predict the weather with. Arthritis in both hip joints. And just for fun anxiety and depression. however I'm also a cussed bastard, despite my shit body I still took part in a 4 by 100 relay race and till recently cycled 10 miles to work every day.

Physically, nope I certainly have not.
I'm old & worn out (and feel even older than my actual age).
Honestly don't believe I've got that many years left. (and I don't even care anymore, it just means I won't have to see much of this country becoming a pit of bigotry racism & hate)

There are many things you enjoy -- focus on them. And whatever years or days we have ahead, looking at the calendar or the watch isn't what life is all about. Live it.

Don't let the political clamor be the definition of the days. Turning away from TV and the internet, I never hear anything political at all as I go about my days. At restaurants, grocery stores, and elsewhere, it's just people being people.

The hype of media is telling us lies, including that we are terribly divided.

You live in possibly the most beauiful state in the union. You're not poor. Celebrate the good things.

The best reply I've ever read on JUB. Great advice. For anyone and everyone. My sentiments exactly; my approach to life.

At this point i am like a bottle of vintage wine.

I must be kept at exactly the right temperature and I don't travel well.

Yep I'll just go for those few things I enjoy :) & take whatever time nature (and or the coming governtment thugs) give me.

I haven't turned on my TV much the past couple months .lol. not missing anything there. (also pretty much avoid social media these days - except YouTube, but on that one I'm mainly looking at weather/storm related vid's)

I'll agree I'm in one of the nicer states :), Not poor, but deff not rich either, I'm just.. here.

People are often surprised when I tell them my age. Grad school was terrible for my physical and mental health, but I've been making good progress on that front. On the whole, I can't complain.

Today I noticed the amount of hair on my dad's ears. I'm afraid this is what I should expect for myself, 30 years from now :(

I was once told if someone around your age tell you you look good what they mean is you look better than they do but if someone 30 yrs younger says you look good you really do.
