I am not a huge alcoholic, but when I am out with friends sometimes I like to overindulge. i have only been cut off by a bartender once. I was going through drinks pretty fast. Probably had like 5 in two hours. I remember he waved across his throat as if to say "you're done" after I order the last one.

Has any one ever been cut off at at bar?...or even worse...thrown out?
 
only if the bartender is a asshole or hates my guts. Yes I have been cut off many times but not usually as of late. I guess in July I was booted out and that would be the last time because the lying sack of shit bartender (who was a cool looking long hair guy) said I threw a drink on him and I never threw jack shit. But I will not argue as the manager will call the law and as a drunk person I will loose and get a DIP, so I give them the finger and leave telling him to "Fuck off".


5 drinks in 2 hrs and you got cut off?


Holy shit 5 drinks in a hour is a bit shy for me when its time to party but how one acts is the real reason plus if the bartender likes you and if they have a indication you are driving or not helps,... mainly if the bartender likes you and you know what a tip is.
Generally though you get to know your bartenders at the various clubs/bars and stick with them things work out because so many wussies go into bars now and buy a bottle of water or a diet fucking coke, and there is no tip for them with that.
 
Of, course I have. It is for your own safety and liability. That is why the gods of alcoholism made this great invention. "Bar Hopping" You go to the next bar and find your limit all over again. hahaha
 
Well by 5 in two hours...I'm meaning tall boys of draft beer. It's a good amount to drink in that time frame.
 
I'm only giving you shit. I know people outside of Wisconsin can't drink.
 
Never been cut off although I probably should have been. I don't tend to drink a lot of alcohol; I try to have one alcohol drink followed by water or just cranberry juice so I don't get tipsy and feel like crap the next day. Plus people think you are drinking a lot more than you are.

And when I do get intoxicated I tend to become a lover and cuddler; not a fighter! lol!
 
Nope, the only time I was cut off was by my group of friends the first time I had tequila.[-X

A few months ago, I was having breakfast at a hotel in Edinburgh, and on the radio came 'Rocket Man'.

And I couldn't remember for a few seconds.... What was I forgetting? Why was it familiar?

I've never been in a bar. Well, I have, but that was many years ago, and I was working on the kitchen equipment...
 
When I was working at the Evil Place, I was required by corporate policy to cut everyone off after four drinks. I had to fight with a few guests about that. Honestly, most of them probably could have handled a few more, but I had to tell them that if they wanted any more to drink, they'd have to go to the Italian place at the other end of the mall.

As for me, I've never been cut off, but I can recall quite a few occasions when I should have been. I've never been able to handle much alcohol (as those who saw me in MN can attest--I could barely walk after three martinis, and they were spread out over two hours), and when I was working at the EP, we ALL drank a lot. (That's what happens when you work a job that sucks the life out of you.) We'd leave work and go to a bar down the road, and we'd spend the next two hours getting shitty. I recall puking in the bathroom at least once, and I think I fell asleep at the bar once or twice.

Since leaving my job at the EP, my tolerance for alcohol has dropped significantly, and I rarely have more than two drinks in one sitting. Even that much can be enough to mess me up, so I make a point to pace myself and eat while I'm drinking.
 
Only once, b/c the bitch barmaid wanted to go home early.

I hadn't even had a drink yet!

(The place closed permanently a month later.)

Shout out to Swerve: can't wait to go out with you when I can drink with you! I'm a fun drunk! :D
 
Never been cut off or thrown out - but I've cut people off and 'asked' them to leave several times. Always got an apology from them the next day too!
