Have You Ever Seen A Ghost?!

It may sound silly; you may think I'm stupid..

Since I can remember, I've always felt there was a presence of someone outside the front of our house (on the porch) - Each night, I'd go to the bathroom, and whilst walking back to my room, I'd look out/through the window of the front door (as it's directly in front of me, in the hallway), and I'd see a figure/shape standing there, and I felt like she was looking at me.. I always freak out, and quickly rush into my room and close my door..

Anyways.. I was talking to Vaughn on Skype, and needed to go for a pee, so got up to go (as ya do, lol), and whilst walking TO the bathroom, I saw her INSIDE in the hallway; I jumped back and gasped, and ran into the bathroom; I saw her face, hair, clothes.. I was startled to say the least..

Now I believe it's her, who I see out on our porch most nights, when I look towards our front door..
It's weird because this house is only 18 years old, and we were the first ones to live in it!
It's 3:38AM and I am sat on the laptop, in bed posting this, cos I can't get to sleep, cos it's really freaking me out!

I quite realise nothing can hurt me, and she's obviously friendly, otherwise something nasty would have happened by now, but yeah.. just thought I'd share my experience with you all..

Lets not laugh, eh.. I believe she is real.

Do you know the history of the land? Could be that the "presence" is tied to teh land...

And yes, I've seen a spirit before. My great-grandmother on the night she died. She appeared in the doorway to my bedroom, smiled sadly at me, I closed my eyes, and when I opened them, she was gone. About an hour later, the nursing home called to tell us that she had passed away.

Like the above post,i also had a ghost figure in my room when i first moved into this house i'm in now...from the living room you can see inside my room,and when you would be watching tv you would see a shadow walk back and forth in my room,but never bothered me. Also! one year i visited the Queen Mary in long Beach for the halloween event "Shipwreck" and one of the mazes was through the hallways of the bunkers where everyone would sleep. As i was walking down the hallway,i saw a little girl walking next to the wall towards everyone.As everyone got closer to her,she walked right through them! I stood there and i couldn't believe what i had seen and asked my cousins if they had seen that,and they asked what little girl are you talking about?

...after walking that maze,i saw a story they have on the ship of two little kids that had drowned in that level where i had just come out from.

Eight years ago, my wife, my father, and I were involved in a horrendous auto accident. My Father was killed instantly and my wife and I were severely injured. We spent two weeks in two trauma hospitals and then I went to a rehab hospital and my wife went to a nursing home. Neither one of us could attend his funeral. Now to the point of this thread. About 4 days after I went to the Rehab Hospital one night I saw my father standing at the foot of my bed patting my foot. At that time I knew that my wife and I would be OK.

Another time I did not see my father. However my Father's widowed sister was in a nursing home dying of Cancer. I sat with her one night when she was having a hard time and she was kind of out of it due to the pain med's but all at once she opened her eyes and said "is that you John?" (my father's name) and then she closed her eyes and died about an hour later. So I really believe my father was in the room with me.

I've never seen one. For the most part I don't believe in them, but they are a possibility. I don't want to see one.

For the people that have seen ghosts:

- where you intoxicated when you saw the ghost?
- was the lighting poor?
- could it have been a reflection
- do you have a history of halucinations?
- do you take any medications that can affect your brain?
- do you have poor eyesight?
- do you ever have nightmares?
- have you ever taken a drug that can affect/damage your brain? (anything from pot, smoking, getting plastered with alcohol- a form of poisoning, illegal drugs, etc.)
- have you ever lost done something that resulted in not being able to breathe: drowning, strangled, etc.?

It's hard to say. I've had one particular incident where it certainly appeared that I saw a human figure.

I'm a cynic though and I can rationalise it away but it certainly felt real at the time and a part of me still believes it happened and wasn't an hallucination.

I've often felt like there's been paranormal stuff occuring around me, particularly in one room in the house I grew up in and all of my old apartment. It's been terrifying at the time but I can't quite make the leap of faith required to believe in that "spritual" world.

No, I've never seen a ghost per say, but I have a sneaking feeling that they exist.

No, they don't look like Casper or disembodied sheets floating down the hall. But, in a metaphysical sense I truly believe that life's energy can get trapped between one dimension and the next.

Dying souls that are 'lost', sort of... Energy that doesn't know that it's dead.

This can result in all sorts of strange occurrences in our third dimensional plane, some like the one's you described.

This often happens with people that died unexpectedly, or people that simply were not ready to go yet.

Folks that say there are no such things as 'ghosts' are much like the ones that say there are no UFO's. To wit: I haven't seen one, therefore they do not exist.

Which of course is pure nonsense. NO one here knows for sure one way or the other.

You're gonna think i'm insane, but... for the longest time, i felt and saw a ghost in my room at night. She was light blue and her skin was white... and she'd kind of float in and out of my room... i'd catch a glimpse of her, and she'd move and vanish. Sometimes she was at my door(so i started shutting it), and sometimes, she was hovering over my side, as if to watch me.

She stopped appearing when we repainted the rooms about 5 years ago, and i've always found that odd.

I've chalked this up to my frantic imagination, but you never know.

That's the first thing Vaughn asked me, when I said that this house isn't even old; well it's not a house; it's a bungalow, but still.. I know that before this development was built, it was just a field.. I'm going to try and find out some history about this area of town, this afternoon.. see if I can come up with anything.

when i was a kid i used to hear a lot of voices, and i knew they werent coming from my head. I'd also feel a lot of pressences that werent there, and see some shadaows of people who werent really there. As i got older i stoped hearing and seeing things, so i pretty much just forogt most of these thing. but recently theres been a lot of crazy shit going on. i tend to hear footsteps at night, and then suddenly i hear a person whistling. that scares the shit out of me. and also everyday between 7 and 8 at night i hear a young girl crying in my backyard. i've actually learned to ignore that, but still its pretty scary

i have not 'seen' a ghost but a friend and i had rented rooms in a 100 year old house while attending jr. college. weird stuff used to happen all the time but what got me was the one time i was roused from my sleep because something was moving on my bed. i thought it was my friend's cat and when i looked around there was nothing there. i figured it was my imagination until i felt my mattress move as if something had gotten off the other side of the bed.
