I've dreamt both my grandmothers with such vivid reality I can't even call it a dream... It was scary at first, too.

Oh, it's hard to say....

I was thinking abotu my uncle when I found out he passed, and all the nice things he did when I was a child.

My light litterally burnt out, just at that moment. He was always a bit of a jokester.

I've had instances where I've heard running in my house thinking it was my cat, but it was not as she was waiting by my door to be let in, looking out into the living room.. or running aroudn upstairs when I have been in the basement.

I was convinced when I was a child that there was a tiger or panther ghost living in my attic...

no idea why... just was.

I'll think of other things and not bring them up when it's so dark and late...
Haha I've been reading these replies late at night too, haha.. figures!
Speak English damn it... oh, wait... darn. Is that a Chavese accent you've got?
How VERY DARE you! :grrr:!!!

I bet it was scary!

If I 'saw' what 'appeared' to be a ghost, I'd book an appointment with a neurologist.

I've seen ghosts on several occasions. The first time was at my Aunt's house. I wasn't the least bit frightened when a grey apparition materialized in front of me. One of the more interesting encounters was at a civil war battle field. I was inside a home used as a hospital. I saw a lady on the stairs in period costume. I assumed she was simply a "living history" actor, until she slowly faded away. In the same house I felt someone grab my arm.

I've had various encounters over the years.

ANd as I prepare for bed, I'd prefer not to go into it... or read the thread - for if I do, I won't sleep.

My roommate brought a ouija board into the place. So now I have to have the house blessed. Ever since, doors seem to open and close by themselves.

We get some ghosting on our TV screen from time to time, but that's about the sum total of my experience with t'other side!

Oh and Mills, reading your first post made the hair on the back of my neck stand up (makes a change, dunnit! ;) )

(*8*) ... for the next time that silly old ghost-tart tries to scare you!

Eww @ ouija board; I'd hate to have one in my house!

Yes, when I went to Dudley castle we went on a tour, the end of the tour saw the group being led into a dark room where we all sat in a circle. The lights where switched off and the vigual started. At first nothing, but then my cousin sitting next to me started squeezing my hand, when I asked whats wrong she said she could not see me but she could see everyone else, she insisted someone was standing in between us, and then she started crying. As thing carried on, I noticed a glowing in the corner, at first it was very unclear. However it sort of formed into like a face looking directly at me,I told everyone but I was the only one seeing it, I thought I was going mad!

I have seen my share of ghosts. One I will always remember is a house I lived in for a while.

It had it's own resident ghost. He never interacted with anyone. We used to see a man in a dark suit and a large wide brim hat. He had a maybe late 1800s or early 1900s look to him. He was always looking slightly downward but he would move from one corner of the room to the other. The room he was always seen in had 2 exits on one side and one on the other side. He would always be in either the right or left corner of the room. It took a while to get used to. Almost everyone who came into the house (even without knowing about it beforehand) saw him also. It never took long. One trip to the bathroom and they would come back asking who that man in the other room was.

I've never seen a ghost, but I've seen a god.

Growing up in Hawaii, my dad once took me to the other side of the island (the big island) to do some shopping. It got late and he decided to take "saddle road" back to Kona.

Side note: Saddle road is the only road on the island that goes through the middle instead of around the circumference. Rental cars are specifically forbidden to take on the road due to a military presence but locals refuse because of a spiritual presence. It's just one of those things, growing up I always heard "never drive on saddle road, especially at night".

My dad had a really large truck (like Big Foot) and I liked to ride in the back instead of the cab. I remember him pulling onto the side of the road just about in the middle of saddle road and looking into the cab to see an older lady getting in and sitting next to him. I figured he was picking up a hitchhiker and thought nothing of it. When we arrived back at his house, I asked what happened to the lady (we had not stopped since picking her up, this was many years ago before there were more than two stop lights in town and very few stop signs). He told me not to bring it up again and went straight into his room.

Flash forward to me being about 22 and reading up on some of the local legends. Apparently, the goddess Pele likes to assume the form of a traveler and hitchhike along saddle road. If you don't stop for her, bad things will happen to you (my dad had a sister that died when she was 16 on saddle road... none of my family will talk about it though). Creepy stuff.

There are a ton of things that have happened to me on that island, none of which I will willingly talk about at night, or any time if I go there to visit.

growing up in my parents house i use to catch things out of the corner of my eye. something walking by the windows or the feeling like someone was watching me from the bottom of the stairs.

I have...

It was about 23.30 and me and my friend were outside my house on the footpath talking, we were facing each other and when we looked straight ahead there was an old man in some kind of uniform with what looked like a gas mask box, about 5 meters away, walking towards us. We looked back at each other confused, because it was a cul-de-sac and we knew everyone in the street. By the time we looked back, he had dissapeared.

That'd freak me out!
