Josh ... perhaps that is a "Previous Memory" of yours, from when you may have been here, before. Yes, I am familiar with "Regression Therapy", and quite a few other things, but that's a different topic.

As for ghosts ...

I'm a Preacher's Kid, from a long line of Clergymen. "Black Sheep", actually, since I'm the first male, in generations, that didn't go into The Church. But, that's another story, too.

The point is, we tended to move every 3-5yr. Many of our "homes" were old Parsonages (Manses/Vicarages to you, Mills.), a few quite big. All old buildings have their own sounds, and personalities, but, in some, we were living with "something more".

I have quite a few stories of "whisperings", seeing small things moving, waking up to rearranged furniture, lights coming on, doors closing by themselves, strange "premonitions", etc. However, I can not claim to have ever seen a figure. (Though Dad does have a picture of one.)

There was a time when Dad was convinced we had a poltergeist. Did a lot of research into that. I remember him coming to the conclusion that it was my middle sister manifesting things during puberty. (No. I'm not kidding. But, it is something I can still kid her about!)

In one place we had a ghost that Dad named "Geoffrey", after a ghost that, supposedly, lived with John Wesley ... founder of The Methodist Church. (John's brother, Charles, was Queen Victoria's chaplain.)

"Geoffrey" must have liked us, because he moved with us from the old parsonage when a new one was built while we lived there. We also thought he came along on our next move to a new town, but, it turned out to be someone different, who was probably already there, in our "new" old house.

All in all, my entire family took it all in stride, as though it was the most natural thing to have ghosts around.

I think there may be one, or two, in this house, too. But, they don't come around very often.

I could tell you specific stories, but I'm not sure JUB has that much server space!

Have I ever seen a ghost? No. Do I believe in ghosts? Absolutely! Am I afraid of ghosts? Absolutely not. More curious/interested than anything ...

Of course, no matter what ...

If one has ectoplasmic somethings/others wafting about, unless one is an exibitionist, I would think that masturbating or having sex with whomever, knowing that the phantoms could observe your behaviour would be a tad disquieting and offputting no?

I already experience performance anxiety with a REAL person, never mind knowing one or several someones who have passed over are in the audience.

Hmmm ... Never thought of THAT!!!

Wow, Chaz

Rearranged furniture ? You had gay ghosts ?

Seriously though, thank you for that... I'm not afraid of ghosts, either. Just the opposite, actually. I find them... Or rather, the concept of them quite comforting.

I'll tread gently here and say that 'Preacher-men' and their families are perhaps more attuned to seeing 'ghosts' and other apparitions if only because they are spiritually in touch with things.

I mean, if one believes in the 'holy ghost', it's not much of a leap to believe that he's brought some friends with him.

What an awesome posting, Chaz - Kewl! ..|

I don't know if I am afraid of her, or it's just the shock when I do see her.
Definitely the shock factor when she was inside for the first time; especially when I only saw her elsewhere..

Mills ...

Has anyone else in your family seen her, or has she only appeared to you? Do you have a deceased relative, or a family friend, that was particularly close to you when you were younger? Just some thoughts ...

And, yes, it is odd that she would suddenly appear Inside, having mainly been "hovering" Outside before. Perhaps you have been giving off "welcoming vibes" that she has gotten more comfortable with. Or, maybe, she has become more accustomed to the house.

It would be interesting to look into the history of the land. Were there structures there before at any time?

I can imagine she would give you quite a jolt, even if nothing more than startling you with the surprise of not expecting her to be right There! (You may have surprised her, too.)

I must say I do rather envy You! Like I said, I've never been lucky enough to see an apparition. I would like to think that, perhaps, you've acquired a (new) "guardian".

Joshy ... You crack me up! Gay ghosts!! :rotflmao:

I'm not sure if the Clergy, and their families, are more attuned, spiritually, than anyone else. I do know some that are more attuned to their social status, and checkbooks, than most. ](*,)

And, I've met many people who are more "spiritual", and not necessarily in a "religious" way, than the majority of the "Church Families" that I've known.

However, I do know that the concept of the "Holy Ghost", is not related to "ghosts" in the same sense. Though that is a very comforting thought! ..|

As for "His friends" ... I believe we call them Angels. (o)

Someone (Splatter, maybe?) mentioned that their ghost went away when they repainted their room. Actually, redecorating a familiar area can, supposedly, heighten, or reduce, the activity of a "presence". This is where the furniture story comes in ...

We moved into a big, old, house in a town on the Ohio River. The minister that we were "replacing" had actually died there, as had his mother several years before. Now, I have no idea if they were our ghost(s), or if it might have been previous tenants. Doesn't really matter, anyway. However, that house was the most "haunted" one that we ever lived in. Most of my stories happened there. And, this was right after we left "Geoffrey"behind.

Side bar ... Dad's "specialty" was rebuilding churches. Both from the stand point of healing rifts within congregations, and remodeling, or expanding the physical building. And, yes, some of those buildings were a bit "haunted", too.

Mom would also, a bit at a time, renovate/redecorate the parsonage, as well. A year, or so, after we had moved in, "We" ... Mom and us three kids ... had stripped down all the woodwork, including the built in "hutch" (from floor to 12' ceiling), the floor itself, and the walls, of the dining room. We had refinished it all, repainted the walls, and moved the furniture back in (which had been piled in one of the two living rooms).

The next morning we went downstairs to find all the dinning room chairs pushed back against the walls. We had placed them around the table. Now, there had been some "curious goings on" in the house before that. And, of course, we kids came under suspicion of "goofing around", despite our pleas of innocence. (And, this time, we really were!)

This continued for about two weeks, every morning. No one ever heard anything. The chairs were always around the table when we went up to bed. Suddenly, it stopped. We figured our ghost(s) finally got used to the "new" room, or simply got tired of moving the chairs!

That wasn't the first, or last, thing that went on in that house. But, those are other stories.

Although, we did find it rather interesting that the house burned down, for no known reason, after being vacated, 7yr. after we had lived there.

Ever since I can remember there's been a cold column of air that stands to the right of my bedroom door. It's followed me every time I've moved house..

Hmm...
Yeah, it's a portal of energy of some sort...

But, I'm sure that you know that already.

It's nothing to be afraid of....

Your Grandfather loves you to pieces, hun...

And for some reason, everyone is 30 over there.

He feels LOTS better, but he's worried about you.

Should he be ?

I'd ask my family, but they'd just laugh at me.. that's why I posted it here, because I felt more comfortable sharing it on JUB, lol! #-o (*8*)

However, I did ask my mum if anything was here before this house, but as far as she knows, it was just a field; we were the first people to live in this building, as well..

I've not been able to find any information that could possibly give any leads to the history of this area of town, sadly - I will keep at it, though.

I've lost some close friends and family members in the last few years, but looked nothing like this figure that I've been seeing - Oddly enough, since I saw her inside, and made this thread, I haven't seen her outside..!!!
Maybe I scared the shit outta her, too?! LOL.

The psychic said,"Well, he's following you around. He'll stay around for two or three weeks, and then he'll move on."

Hmm...

Yeah, I think love is love no matter if it comes from animals or humans. (And we're all just animals, anyways...)

What a thread this has proven to be !

Since we're sharing, I'll tell one more thing before the nice men in the white coats come to get me. ;)

About four years ago, I was shopping at the grocery store and standing in line waiting to check out.

There was this elderly woman behind me in line and we caught each other's eye.

I can't really explain what happened next, but it felt like the coldest wind I'd ever experienced washed over me. I looked at her and said, "James says 'Hello' "

The look on her face was very scary. It was like the blood had drained out of it and she had lost all her color. "It's OK", I heard myself say, "Who's James ?" "James was my Father", she said... "Is he OK ?"

"He's fine, he's right behind you. In fact, he's all around you.."

And with that she started crying. "It's OK", I said again. She said something else at that point that I can't remember, but all I wanted to do was get out of that store as fast as I could...

*Sigh*

OK, enough of these stories.

I am really glad I made this thread, and that all you guys are able to share your stories!
Joshua, that one is TOO kewl - Whilst reading it, I got waves of tingling down the right-side of my entire body; it started from my shoulder, then progressed down to my foot, and did the same two more times, ha! ..|

I have never seen one per se, but I've experienced the effects. My current home has a ghost. Things get knocked over, people have been touched, stuff like that. Buddy of mine jumped about 3 feet in the air when someone grabbed him on the shoulders from behind, he was right next to me when it happened and he was not faking.

Funny story: My bro works as a projectionist at the base theater. Supposedly the place is haunted by the ghost of a little girl. One day late at night he was working alone, and he came around the corner and a little girl was sitting at the top of the stairs. She stared at him, and he stared back in disbelief, his heart pounding. And then the girls dad walked up behind and said "C'mon Maria time to go home!"

I need to stop reading these posts, when it's so late at night, haha! #-o !oops!

There's a ghost that haunts the bedroom in my late grandparents old house. People think it's my great grandmother who died in that room. I was asleep in that room on a hot summer night. The house had no air conditioner. Suddenly, late at night an extreme chill came over me. It was like someone opened the door of a freezer. Not just a pocket of cool air, this was frigid. I then felt someone lay a hand firmly on my shoulder. I slept no more that night. I've never slept in that room again. This has happened to many members of my family.

Zoiks! #-o

At the foot of the bed stood a very old old man. His face was white but his body was black, almost like he was wearing all black. I know he was standing there because he obstructed my view of the window. He looked at me and seemed to smile as he fixed the blanket at my feet. I can't explain it but I didn't feel threatened. It was as if he died there and was happy that I enjoyed the view as much as he did. I closed my eyes...opened them again...and he was gone.

Wow...

Strange how something so potentially scary can actually be rather comforting.

Thanks for sharing that.

I have a one off, odd one.

I was at a Laser tag game, either for a birthday or with friends, and I was hiding on the lower level of the arena, which IS in an old building, in downtown.

anyways as I was hiding, I turned, and saw someone! They looked a good 6 or 8 feet away from me.
They said "HEY!" really loud so I shot them. Then MY pack started rumbling!

I had just shot a mirror with my reflection in it... But I NEVER said "HEY!" and it was like it was right beside me. I hauled ass out of there...
Hahaha!! Now, I only laugh, because you hit yourself, lol! :p
