I could have paid for everything I have taken.

there have been times where I have accidentally taken things from stores and I always paid them back next time I visited. I don't know why.

When I was 8 I stole some MnMs and Lifesavers from the local convenience store. I haven't stole anything anymore considering I have a BIG guilty conscience.

However, I do find myself to be a pen kleptomaniac. I sometimes take pens from people without knowing.

I'd probably have a panic attack if I ever stole anything. I do however condone and encourage theft.

I stole some money some 25 years ago that didn't belong to me.

About four years ago I approached my Lawyer about making some restitution.

Quite anonymously, I did so, with interest.

The lawyer bill was a bit higher than I wished, but now I no longer feel so bad.

And still, nobody knows.

Because, with interest, it had become a fairly decent sum, evidently the money was set up in some sort of a Scholarship fund so now it is doing some good.
