  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Have you ever walked out of a movie 'cause it sucked?

Natural Born Killers.

A little parody goes a long way with me. I gave it a fair chance, watched it for a whole hour and gave up on it.

I LOVED Rosemary's Baby! Both the book and then the movie. I would have left no other way than to be dragged out kicking and screaming!

But yeah, hated the Exorcist.

I am such a skinflint, I find a movie has to really be horrid for me to lose the ticket money I paid.

I can't even watch that when it plays on television...

The whole movie was a slap in the face to a great, fun television series...

The TV show was before my time. I walked out right after the opening sequence knowing the rest of the movie was going to be a waste of my time.

Someone mentioned Lost in Translation. I probably would've walked out too had I been watching it in a theater. I bought the DVD and actually paused it several times to watch porn and jacked off because it got too boring. Although after watching the movie start to finish, I felt it was a great film. Its one of those films that doesn't entertain or appeal to you upon face value but it sticks with you and have you thinking about it long after you finish it.

Aliens, Conan the Barbarian, 2001, and a few more that I cant remember.

Yes, I understand that feeling. At $10 a ticket around here, one keeps hoping that the movie just hasn't hit the good part yet.....and so you wait and wait and wait and suddenly its over. :(

The worst movie I think I have ever seen start to finish was just recently.....Lady in the Water. M. Night Shyamalan had better apply at McDonald's soon. :help:

I actually saw two movies within the SAME WEEK where my then-boyfriend and I thought about walking out. But we decided to stick it out both times, figuring we'd at least get a story out of it.

BR&M had better action sequences, and TMNT3 had better insights into human nature.

I watched TMNT with my 6 year old nephew, which made all the difference. His enjoyment helped me through the movie.

Yeah, the first one. That one's OK. The second one was pretty bad. The third one...

The Devils Rejects

luckily I worked at the movie theater and didn't pay for it.

I even stuck it out for "Rebound" with Martin Lawrence, and "Sleepover," but anything directed by Rob Zombie so far has been so bad I can't even give them F's

I walked out of Swimfan. My friends and I only went in because pretty much everything else was sold out. After about 30 minutes we all decided we'd wasted enough of our time and left. I fell asleep during the first Lord of the Rings movie (I've since watched it all the way through). I also agree with those who said how crappy Wild Wild West was. I wanted to leave so bad, but my dad wanted to stay. It sucked. No one enjoyed it.

OK, then let's widen the scope:

Have you ever rented, purchased, or downloaded (legally or illegally) a movie that you turned off in the middle because it sucked so bad?

Yes, I illegally downloaded Crash. Was really intrigued because of all the acclaim. Looked at it for 5 or 10 minutes, wondered what the hell I was looking at, promptly stopped the movie, and off the recycle bin it went. :D

I walked out of a movie once...to get sucked... Does that count???

Why did you walk out? Which movie was it?

Me? I walked out of Amadaeus. That God-forsaken cackling laugh gave me a splitting headache.

Amadeus was great!

I walked out of some movie called Internal Affairs I think, it had Richard Gere but it was still so bad... I also walked out of an Austin Powers...

my grandson once insisted we see some piece of shit called Kangeroo jack and when he wanted to sit through it a second time (something we often do) I lied to him for the first and only time and said they did not have another show.

The Cate Blanchett Elizabeth was so bad I never finished watching the dvd I rented.
