If I had seen Citizen Kane in a theatre, I would have walked out, but I was at home watching it on TV, so I changed the channel.
On the lighter side, I just recalled the night I invited a friend of mine who was in college to come to my place to watch the original version of 'The Haunting'. I had to walk him home. Scared the crap out of him.
^ If you haven't seen the 1963 Robert Wise version, make a point to do so.
There was discussion in another thread about horror movies which hold back showing the nemesis until later in the movie or even waiting until the end. The original version of The Haunting took that to the extreme by not showing a single ghost. That is precisely why I didn't watch the new versions. As soon as I saw the ghosts in the trailers, I knew it would be a bad movie.
Oh Lucky Man. Ridiculous and Stupid.

Just to note...The Haunting of Hill House also based on the Shirley Jackson book, released last year on Netflix, is literally one of the best things I have ever seen. If you have Netflix, you must watch this.
^Do you mean 'The Cook, The Thief, His Wife and Her Lover'?
I loved The Station Agent. Thought Peter Dinklage was to totally charming--I'm happy to see he's now a star. Everything about the movie was charming--very down-to-earth slice of rural American life, affectionately portrayed.Uzak and The Station Agent, both dreadful arthouse movies.
