HBO's "True Blood" [merged]

OK, I take it back...

The show is back in top form. This episode was an A+ for me. :=D:

I can see why the guy who plays Sam's brother got the part. He plays those "crazy eyes" really well for such a young actor.

Anyone know the song that was playing at the end of the episode ?

They need to get Lafayette's mom and Tara's mom in a fight. In church.

Somebody needs to kill Bill because his romance with Sookie is killing me.

I'd like to see Sam and Tommy make out, as dogs and then change back to human during it, but I know that's not gonna happen.

Too bad this series isn't on Showtime. They'll do anything. They don't worry about how many Emmy noms they get or whether or not straights are bothered by it.

i hope bill dies.... I hope snookie and eric get together.. I also love Jessica.. I hope she falls in love with alcide.... or pam.. that would be fun..

Me too! What a boring fucking couple.
Bill's so fucking boring. Seriously...what a snore fest.

Sookie should've stayed with the hunky wolf guy. :D

I know right?

Bill is a boob. When he got killed and turned into a vampire, someone should have at least made an effort to resurrect his personality (it's more dead than the undead!). And Shitforbrains Stackhouse needs the shit smacked out of her by my girl, Tara. I mean seriously, the last scene? Lafayette's mom probably had more sense than those two put together. Plus their fuck scene was nauseating. I would rather watch Andy Bellefleur make out with Sam Merlotte's dad.

Meth-breath Crystal looks like a dried-up scallop. Jason, you can do better than that.

Alcide :luv:

Crystal can't help that she's an imbred, junky slut. Seems like you'd have some compassion for her, what with sharing so many charecteristics.

Oh my. I love this. (!)

I'm surprised at how many people are rooting against Bill and Sookie. What about love, guys? I hope they can work things out. One of the biggest plot points of the show revolves around the question of their relationship (human and vampire coexistence). I love their scenes, I think they're very well acted too.

I was disappointed that the gay sex scene at the end didn't go further. I was super happy at first that it went even that far, but the fact that Talbott had to DIE just makes me think of everything I learned in my queer cinema class about the shortcomings of queer film - the faggot always has to die at the END. It ALWAYS happens. It subconsciously represents gay guilt and also it feeds into the desires of a heteronormative straight audience - they EXPECT to see something bad happen to the deviant homo. That is our punishment. So much queer film falls into this trap, and new queer cinema is trying to combat it, but... it looks like we've only gotten so far. This was also a very big criticism of Brokeback Mountain. We can never have a happy ending (well, except in Shelter, I guess).

Also, what the fuck are those creatures in the meth area? Goblins? Choubacabras?

Still super turned on by Tommy - wish him and Sam weren't related so a sexual thing could even be hoped for. I wish I could shapeshift into a dog and sniff Tommy's ass! :P

Also, does anyone remember the trailer for this season, the shower sex scene (dream, I think) between Sam and Bill? Wonder whatever happened to that.

Oh, one last thing! Jessica is awesome, too. I really like where her character is going.

I personally hate them b/c first of all, I think Bill is ugly. And I just cant stand how dramatic they are and the way act like their relationship is the most important thing that ever existed. They are so selfish. Sookie thinks everyone should be drop what they are doing to help her find Bill all the time. And Bill instead of being a good maker to Jessica wants to focus everything on Sookie and halfass teach Jessica to fight but it's really just to protect sookie.

I know what you mean. But once they kissed I expected Talbot to die. The gay always has to die. You know Jesus is a goner. There's no way he's lasting the entire season. It isnt too disappointing b/c I dont think he and lafayette have chemistry.
But always puzzles me why gay filmmakers always make gay movies with sad endings over and over again.

I think the actor that plays Tommy is cute in other roles but not as Tommy. He just looks so filthy and white trash all covered in scars. gross.

I dont remember that. But you can pretty much guarantee that scene will not be shown. They already did the Bill and Sam almost shower, so maybe it was just an alternate version of that, that was scrapped b/c it was too gay.

That was what I was thinking of, the almost-shower thing. What happened to it? Was it in trailers, or was it cut, or did it just not happen yet? Or maybe it was just in the very first episode of the season and it wasn't anything...?

As for Tommy, the whole reason I find him so attractive has a lot to do with his character - the whole southern boy, white trash thing. Yum.

It was explained away as just a dream that Sam was having on account of ingesting so much of Bill's blood at the end of last season during that fight with MaryAnn.

Once you have the vamps blood it creates an erotic connection between you and the vamp. Kinda like how vampire bats secret an anti-coagulant to keep the animals they feed from scabbing over. The erotic connection allows the vamp to more easily gain access to the individual, as a result easy feeding. Yup.

Holy Fuck'n'A

Tommy's got a nice ass. Yum. How did I ever watch tv w/o a DVR?

What's up with Sam? He really does not like to be called a pussy.

He needs to shut that bar & grill down cause it's got some super bad mojo.

Russell's speech was flawless. :=D:

... and now the weather. :rotflmao:

Alright, I love True Blood but tonight was the cheesiest episode of the whole season.

The scream before the opening sequence was cheesy... Russell writhing in Talbot's blood was cheesy... Bill in Sookie's "dream world" was cheesy... Nan Flanagan interrogating Eric was cheesy... Bill and Sookie in the shower was cheesy... Russell taking over the news broadcast at the end was cheesy. It was all cheesy. I understand that this show has a high camp factor (which I love about it) but tonight was over the top.

That said...

I really liked Holly's scenes tonight. She seems pretty interesting and I liked her interactions with Tara and Arlene.

Alfre Woodard was great as usual. So was Carrie Preston (Arlene). She really impressed me in that scene where Arlene broke down about the baby.

It sucks that they brought Franklin back just to kill him in less than two minutes. What was the point? He should've at least terrorized Tara for an episode or two.

I am so not interested in this Jason/Crystal story. Calvin Norris, Felton, the dude in the jail... I just don't care about any of them. The actress who plays Crystal annoys me more with every episode. I don't buy for one minute that Jason is interested in such a difficult, ugly bitch.

The Jessica/Hoyt scenes were nice but they felt out of place with everything else going on. I hope they get back together soon. I'm tired of watching them cry over each other, LoL. Alan Ball has played that story beat for long enough.

Sam's sudden violent streak was interesting. I wonder what that's about?

Tommy has a cute ass. :P

The scene with Sookie, Hadley and Hadley's son was unnecessary. It didn't seem relevant to the current plot whatsoever. That scene could've been cut altogether and I wouldn't have cared.

Overall, tonight's episode left me feeling sour. Hopefully next week's episode will be better. I think big things are going to happen now that Eric has been given free reign to go after Russell and Russel has completely lost his mind. Hopefully that will that build to a big climax in the finale.

Obviously they werent gonna kill off Eric, but having Russell forget about killing Eric and all of a sudden wanting to attack the American Vampire League is just too damn stupid and makes no sense.

I think Hadley's son's scene was executed poorly but made perfect sense to be part of the story. Maybe not part of this particular episode though.

I'm intrigued by Holly too. My guess is she is a witch or something. Clearly she isnt just a regular woman. No strangers just show up and they are just regular people.

Crystal I still couldnt give too shits about. It's obvious that her and her trashy family are shifters. I dont get why they are dragging it on and on, like we've never seen shifters before.
