I hadn't read any of the books, so I had no idea about vampires flying. My roommate and I were watching as Eric was talking to Sam and the kids. We thought he was getting ready to dart off. We had a "wtf" moment when he blasted into the sky.

I also loved Lafayette talking to Sookie about being bonded to Eric. It wsa like he was putting to words everything she was thinking.

Tonights episode was disappointing.

Yeah, this episode wasn't quite as eventful. It's the calm before the storm. But there were some important developments. First being finding a possible way to defeat Maryann. And the second, learning that Tara was the one who summoned Maryann. The whole time I though she came to Bon Temps for Sam.

I just caught up with last weeks episode and watched tonights back to back.

And yes, I just wanted to post real quick, and haven't read any subsequent posts to this (but I will after I click submit)

I loved Evan Rachel Wood as the Queen. She was absolutely spot on, and looked hot doing it. And playing Yahtzee and wanting to see two guys have sex is even better.

I wanted to slap Tara across the face, like Eggs did to her. What the fuck was the thinking going back for Eggs when she knew Maryann would bring her back to the black eyes again? Sookie said it best - "You're acting like a fucking idiot right now." Love, schlub.

Was that this season or last when the black-eyed child came to Tara when the pharmacist "exorcised" her? I think it was the first, but what a great way to incorporate Maryann coming in the first place. I approve

I hate Maryann right now, but love the actress that plays her. She is phenomenal. "You're all FUCKING MORONS!"

WTF was up with the egg on the bed in the nest? (like I said, I haven't read any previous posts, but will...)

I think the Queen gets pissed/has sex with/does some shit to Eric. She did not look happy at all in the previews of the season finale.

There was a flashback when Sam was a teenager and had sex with Maryann so she was already in the town years ago before Tara got her exorcism so to now say that Tara summed her doesnt ad up.


Maryann had unfinished business with Sam. She said it wasnt about the money when Sam wanted to repay for the stuff he stole.

^ Did they say that Maryann and Sam had sex in LA? I would imagine that they would leave that "to the imagination" so as to not imply she has already been there...

You all need to back up off Tara.

She went back for the man she loves, the first man who has ever shown her real love. She was also raised in such a way that she had to take care of others to her own detriment, and that's some powerful conditioning.

I loved the tender realization last week on the parts of Lafeyette and Lettie Mae when they acknowledged how inside this strong black woman was a hurt little girl they both let down repeatedly over the years.

That tryst or whatever between Maryann and Sam took place long before Sam actually arrived in Bon Temps. Tara inadvertantly drew Maryann's attention to Bon Temps, where she suubsequently found Sam after all those years. At least, I think that's how it went down.

Are you kidding me? Rutina Wesley has left me in tears numerous times in this show, last week included. When she came out with, "I'm crazy. I'm really crazy," my heart broke. And when she saw her mother and really started to lose it? I was right there with her.

Don't even get me started on how many times she made me cry in season one. I might have to turn in my membership to manhood.

I thought tonight's episode was great because there were a lot of plot developments like Maryann being summoned by Tara and Evan Rachel Wood coming in as the Queen, plus the arrival of Sookie's cousin Hadley. ERW was spectacular and like you guys said above I loved how she wanted Bill and Eric just to fuck and get it over with!

I kind of think her and Eric will scheme something together because I think she has an interest in Bill and of course Eric has a keen interest in Sookie, but I could be off base.... plus do you guys think the "egg" at the end in the nest has any relation as to why they call Tara's BF "Eggs?"

Thanks for the welcome by the way, I've been lurking on here for ages and finally decided to register . It's funny that you mention Carl because his character always seemed to be sort of like a eunuch I'll never forget that scene back in the first episode of this season I think where Maryann slaps the hell out of him about the towels. I do think that Eggs may be a candidate in the running for being a vessel or some other purpose. Whatever it is, he is there for a reason. Maybe for something that Maryann has in mind for him because it seems she has a purpose for everyone she surrounds herself with...like Daphne and it didn't seem to workout well for her in the end.

I remember that now that you mention it, because I think Tara asked him about it in that episode where they take that road trip and he has the flashback about that place in the woods where a sacrifice or something happened!

What is EVERYONE'S interest in Sookie? I mean I get that this is a world where werewolves, shapeshifters and of course vampires exist but as we all learned earlier this season, apparently there are other mind readers out there as well so what exactly is so special about Sookie that literally everyone is so captivated by her?

And while I'm on the subject of other mind-readers, I really hope they aren't going to leave us hanging with Barry. Or that glow of light that Sookie used from the previous weeks episode.

Loved the Queen. Evan Rachel Wood had me glued to her every move and word. Wish she'd be more of a permanent character.

As has been pointed out already by others, Maryann had previously run into Sam thus making the revelation that Tara was the one that summoned her to Bon Temps a little confusing. I can't recall if it was actually Bon Temps that the two first met but I find it hard to believe that Maryann showed up randomly through Tara's summoning to the very place that Sam happened to already be living.
