HBO's "True Blood" [merged]

Did anyone else's interests peak when Sookie said she threw a chain and it wrapped itself around that guys neck in Season 1?

I always wondered if that was something "special" for Sookie or if it was just TV magic made to look cool.

And I hope Jesus isn't calling it quits

Yeah...spoiler:

If you watch the first season DVD in, I think, the deleted scenes...you can see a fairy run along in the woods. The scene briefly shows her...and that same fairy is in the previews for later in the season.

This episode was terrible. I dont get why all the gay scenes btwn Lafeyette and Jesus are like Nickelodeon kissing. And when it's not prewchool kisses they are interrupted by the most random shit. That "girl" Jason likes is so stupid and ugly. She looks like a grandmother. And Eric's "I'm totally gay routine" is so overacted actually kind of offensive to me.

Yeah, that part bothered me as well.

Overall, I think that episode was the best so far in this season, but IMO the show in general has gone off the tracks a bit.

Too many new characters, a couple too many plot lines. For me, the sense of wonder and romance and just plain "fun" has left the show.

I hope it's only temporary.

after discussing show after show with you, i know you are a picky watcher with tv. but come on, this episode was awesome. your totally basing this entire episode off the sillyness of the lafayette/jesus scenes.

Tonight was the best episode of the season so far...that's all I gotta say. Brings me back to what drew me to this show in the first place.

Tonight's episode was so good. CLAUDINE!!!! The scene with her and Sookie was the best. I got nervous that Pam was about to get the axe.

Wow, what a great episode. So many shocking deaths -- Lorena, Coot, Magister.

I loved Sophie-Anne's bitchy sneering. My friend thinks Evan Rachel Wood overacts on TB, but I think her campiness is appropriate for the role. Also loved Hoyt and his new girlfriend.

I thought this was an improvement over the last episode. Maybe because there were fewer characters/plotlines to keep track of. No Jessica, Arlene, Terry, Jesus, and no more Franklin. The only weird thing was Sookie's ethereal "dream" -- it looked like a setup for softcore porn, but that's just my opinion.

The episode was not awesone. Lafayette/Jesus was a big part of it and it sucked. I'm all for gay lovin but this just doesnt even seem natural. Jesus tracked Lafayette down at work to start a love affair? It just doesnt even make sense. And their chemistry is off. The guy that plays lafayette seems perfectly fine with sassiness and cross-dressing but totally uncomfortable with man-on-man kissing.

Jason and Crystal is even worse. Ugh.

And Eric flirting with the king. Is so gross and transparent. I just do see how someone as a astute as Russell is even entertaining that bullshit.

Sorry I thought the bad outweighed the good.

I did love Tara pummeling Franklin.

I don't know how I feel about the "other world" Sookie visited, it seemed kind of cheesy. I love that we got to see Claudine, I thought Claudine was supposed to be like 6 feet tall? Oh well it's not that important. Alcide is hot but seriously needs acting lessons, I cringe when he tries to act.

Have you read the books? I think that the "other world" was supposed to be the land of_____.

Good episode! Glad that the magister is dead. Not liking the Jason storyline. So dumb, really going to get meth so that you can find out information on Crystal? Curious to find out what happened with Bill, and why he was able to survive the sunlight.

I thought it was obvious that Sookie's blood helped him survive. He had never taken so much before. The whole episode reinforced how special Sookie/her blood is. I think it also showed how Bill was starting to "steal her light."

I was reading another forum and realized that Franklin is probably still alive. When Sookie showed Tara what a vampire looks like when it's dead, Tara looked mortified having realized that Franklin didn't turn into bloody goop when she bashed his head in.

If this is the case, I'm scared to Tara.

Don't be scared...knowing crazy-ass Franklin--who I love, btw--he'll probably be even more in love with Tara than before.

You know, on second thought, maybe that is something to be scared about.

Yes I have read all the books and most of the short stories, I don't think that place was the world of ____. I think once they sensed Bill then they retreated to that world. Also the world in the book is a physical world, Sookie wasn't physically in another world.

I dunno. his head was smashed. It looked like watermelon bits.

Franklin says, "Oh, Tara! That's the best head job I've ever received!"
