Health News that Trump Doesn't Want You To Know

153 unvaccinated students in protective quarantine after measles exposure... 🤦‍♂️

Measles is highly evolved to wreak havoc with an incubation period of 10-14 days before the rash appears. Children with measles are contagious 4 days before and 4 days after the rash appears. The primary mode of transmission is respiratory, with 1 case of measles typically creating 12 to 18 cases in an unvaccinated population.

What is more concerning is that contact tracing of the exposure source has not been successful, which means that there are cases in the community that have not been identified.

A recent measles outbreak in South Carolina has grown by two cases, according to health officials in the state, as the US outbreak total has reached 1,563 cases, the most in decades.

Seven measles cases have been reported in Spartanburg County, South Carolina, since Sept. 25, and the state has had 10 total cases this year. The current outbreak has no identified source, which suggests measles is circulating in the community.

In Muskegon County, Michigan, officials reported a second measles case with a possible exposure at an urgent care clinic. Michigan has now had 28 measles cases this year.

And more RFK disinformation out there.

It's a perfect example of the fallacy of causation. Your dog pees on the carpet. You throw something at the dog. The dog thinks, "Peeing on the carpet causes something to fall out of the sky and hit me".

There's lots of kids on anti-depressants (prescriptions for anti-depressants written to teenagers increased about 50% during the pandemic). 99% of kids on SSRIs aren't shooting up their schools. Something that all school shooters have in common? Access to guns. It's the motivation for why they kill that researchers are not clear on... and because of Congressional legislation protecting the gun industry, it's hard to study and figure out why school shootings have become so common.

This is also the reason that politicians without a science background should not be appointed to these positions.

WHY do they want/need a causative link between paracetamol and autism? I don't believe for one second they care about the patients and want to treat the condition. So what is their personal gain from getting the drug schedule revoked or restricted? There must be money to be made somehow.
Meanwhile, every other country on the planet will continue to give paracetamol to pregnant mothers just as before and none will be afraid of it.

Robert Kennedy Jr, somehow between extra-marital affairs and drug addiction, found the time to get a law degree. RFK Jr is allied with a a group of attorneys who specialize in suing pharmaceutical companies in personal injury lawsuits.

Kennedy for years has earned referral fees from Wisner Baum, a Los Angeles personal injury law firm that is currently suing Merck, alleging the pharmaceutical giant failed to properly warn the public about risks from its vaccine against human papillomavirus (HPV), Gardasil, according to financial disclosure documents filed by Kennedy with the Office of Government Ethics.

Wisner Baum is representing a plaintiff in a trial against Merck and other lawsuits are in the works in North Carolina...

Kennedy has made about $2.5 million since 2022 in his work with the law firm, including $850,000 last year, public records show. Kennedy, himself a longtime personal injury lawyer, could earn even more if the litigation against Merck prevails given that he is opting to keep his stake in the pending court case, according to ethics documents filed before his confirmation hearings.

Why no pushback from the political crowds who get millions of dollars in campaign donations? There has been pushback behind closed doors. There are over 1,500 registered lobbyists from Big Pharma in Washington DC.

However, the "it's the women's fault" fits nicely into the social conservative agenda, which wants women to not work, to stay at home and to produce more [white] babies.

Being far away, I'm open to correction :
Their policies if enacted may get them (say) 2x as many "white" babies, but at the same time aren't they going to increase the number of "non-white" babied as well through the same policies, only 5x more. White families are better positioned to work around the hurdles.

For the past 20 years, right wing radio in the US has been pushing a panic narrative that the US is going to become a "minority majority" country where the sum of non-white citizens (and non-citizens) will exceed the number of white people in the country.

They blame the higher birth rate in minority women. They blame the number of [white] working women who delay pregnancy to attend college and have careers. They blame the use of birth control by white women. They also believe that white women are more likely to have abortions. As dystopian as it sounds, their agenda is to get white women to have more babies. It's not an unusual paradigm- Soviet Russia, Hungary and other authoritarian countries have had similar campaigns to get women to have more babies, particularly male babies.

It's also a recurring trope that, if something goes awry with a pregnancy, it must have been something that the woman did. In the case of autism spectrum disorders, this is an over-simplification of a condition that is likely to have multiple underlying risk factors, one of which is the age of the father. It's almost as if we haven't learned anything since the reign of Henry VIII.

The policies are designed to ensure a higher infant mortality rate among poor (black and brown) women.

And in case you have missed it...Project 2025 and the broligarchs looking to create fortress America are also looking to breed a slave class with poor healthcare, education and housing to do the work of immigrant labour.

And the measles cases continue to percolate in the background...
