Health News that Trump Doesn't Want You To Know

Silence = Complicity

They're getting something. I don't know what. But there is something that's been promised to insurance companies if they keep quiet for now.
You're assuming the goal is to preserve socialized healthcare. The "deal-maker" got out of prison in exchange for letting minority factions control the agenda.

When Rick Scott was governor of Florida, he worked hard to eliminate public-funded hospital districts in Florida, proposing that they be sold to for-profit healthcare organizations (like the one he used to be CEO of). In 2023, when now Senator Scott [R-FL] became chair of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, he proposed a 5 year sunset review of Medicare, which would put an elimination of socialized Federal healthcare on the table.

Project 2025 promoted elimination of Medicare part B and making Medicare C the only option. Dr Oz, who for some inexplicable reason is the director of CMS, is discussing putting pre-authorization and pre-certification requirements in place for Medicare plans. Adding pre-auth/pre-cert requirements would require another company to review medical necessity prior to service. And guess who has been doing medical necessity reviews for HMO/PPO plans for decades and would be the perfect entity to outsource the process to?

I am not assuming anything. When these big companies are losing money and not complaining about it in the short term, they're getting paid big time long term for their compliance.

The game, if the Project 2025 zealots get their way, is to give private insurers 100% of the Medicare outpatient market.

The proposal was written by my favorite closet case, Roger Severino, who knows nothing about healthcare. His proposal is to set up a vague, undefined competitive bidding market where insurers would "compete" against each other. This is the kind of privatization lunacy that we saw tested in Wisconsin and Texas. I don't know why Republicans continue to live in a delusional world where they believe that for-profit corporations can do something equally well for less cost than government agencies. There's plenty of examples of dismal failures and increased costs but since Congress has turned into a rubber stamp factory for Project 2025, it could happen.

Yeah, it does not surprise in the least that's game. So insurance companies accept some Part C cuts now without complaint, in exchange for owning the whole later. No.? Or am I missing something?

The idea of insurers 'competing' against one another is lunacy.

They will fix the market, divide the market share and then use leveraged buy-outs to try to swallow one another.

The idea of the American healthcare market being like getting a hair transplant in Turkey, a knee replacement in India or plastic surgery in Brazil is absurd. The biggest reason that this won't work is that on one hand, they're promoting private PPOs/HMOs to replace traditional Medicare. On the other hand, you're supposed to "shop around" to find the cheapest price. Nevermind that your only choices are "in network" hospitals and doctors that your PPO/HMO would approve.

One of the reasons that Medicare has such lower administrative costs is that the majority of healthcare providers in the US accept assignment of benefits for Medicare, so you can usually keep your preferred doctor. Medicare also states up front what they cover as medically necessary, so you don't have to waste weeks arguing with a medical reviewer as to whether your needed care is "medically necessary".

That is what was written in Project 2025, pre-Luigi, that is.

So, another nutjob shot up a building and killed a police officer last week.

This one showed up at the CDC in Atlanta with multiple guns, shot up the windows at the CDC, killed a police officer and then he invaded a CVS store near the Emory University campus and shot up the pharmacy.

The policeman who was killed was David Rose, age 33, who had just graduated from the police academy in March and had only been with the police department for a few months. He was married with two children. His wife is pregnant with their third child. Officer Rose was retired military, having served as a Marine in Afghanistan.

All these podcasters, Senator Rand Paul and Robert F. Kennedy Jr spreading disinformation about mRNA vaccines is causing these mentally unwell people to attack the scientists trying to help us all.

In response to the shooting, President Trump immediately sought to fortify security to protect scientists. Just kidding! He sent the military to fight petty crime in Washington DC.

A police officer was killed when a gunman opened fire near the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) headquarters and the Emory University campus in Atlanta on Friday afternoon, according to authorities.

Patrick Joseph White, 30, of Kennesaw, Georgia, has been identified as the suspected shooter in the incident, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. He died during the incident.

The Atlanta Police Department said the suspect was found dead from a gunshot wound, which may have been self-inflicted. No civilians were shot in the incident, police said...

There were 92 children at a day care center on the CDC campus at the time, who were unharmed, police added.

At the earlier press conference, Lorraine Cochran-Johnson, DeKalb County CEO, said it was a "dark day" for the county. The officer leaves behind a wife, who is pregnant, and two children, she said.

Suspected gunman in CDC shooting had grievance toward Covid vaccine: Sources

The 30-year-old shooter struggled with his mental health, sources said.
One neighbor, who asked not to be named, said White would sit on her porch for long stretches, often complaining that after he got the COVID-19 shot, he had lost a lot of weight, developed problems swallowing and gastrointestinal issues. And, the neighbor said he believed the media and government weren't covering it.

If you click on the image, you can see the bulletholes in the windows.

I think they definitely want to kill off the old. And the poor.

It is all part of a natural selection theory that part of the regime believes in.

And part of the core belief of the right wing religious nuts who think that diseases and death are just part of 'God's Plan' before the rapture.

Not understanding that people are the actual drivers of an economy.

And that they themselves, as we saw with COVID, are often the ones who die in greatest numbers.

But frankly, if that it what it takes to rid the US (and Canada) of 'christian' dominionists...bring it on.

The weekly measles report was skipped this week. The CDC offices were sprayed with bullets this week by a mentally deranged person who had access to multiple weapons, in spite of his documented mental health issues.

The anti-science brain-worm-addled crowd that have taken over HHS have been promoting the benefits of raw, unpasteurized milk.

Meanwhile in Florida, where selling raw milk for human consumption is illegal but can be purchased as "pet food" ....

Health officials in Florida are warning people about the dangers of drinking raw milk after 21 people got sick from products linked to a single farm.

The Florida Department of Health said six of the sickened individuals are children under age 10. Seven people were hospitalized, and two developed serious complications.

The milk, which was labeled as being not for human consumption, was later discovered to be infected with at least two bacteria that cause severe illness, and in some cases, death.

One particularly brilliant Floridian who knowingly drank the unpasteurized milk is suing the dairy farm because she miscarried at 20 weeks. Her toddler also got sick. The milk she bought was labeled as being only for pets and not for human consumption, in accordance with Florida State law.

If they're willfully stupid enough to drink unpasteurized milk and get sick from sick it, that's their problem. I'm really fed up with these people and I hope they suffer the consequences of their disregard for science and facts. Seriously. I don't give a shit anymore. Drink it. Get sick and die if you want to. It's your freeDumb.

In the past few days, I've seen people on FB pushing ivermectin and some other fungicide for treating serious things like pancreatic and lung cancer and then blaming mRNA vaccines as the cause of the cancer. The stupidity is unbearable.

Meanwhile, Texas says their outbreak is over. However, public schools reopen this week.

State health officials on Monday declared an end to the deadly measles outbreak in West Texas after more than 42 days without a new case.

However, Idaho is now having cases appear, just in time for their public schools to reopen. The interesting thing about the Idaho outbreak is that it is unvaccinated children and the cases don't appear to be connected, which makes it likely that measles is circulating and cases are going unreported.

Officials from the Department of Health and Welfare (DHW) and Panhandle Health District (PHD) are announcing the third confirmed case of measles in an Idaho resident. This most recent case is an unvaccinated child in Bonner County. There is currently no known link between the Bonner County case and the Kootenai County case that was announced last week. One other case of measles was announced in Eastern Idaho this month as well.

“Without any link between these two confirmed cases in north Idaho or travel outside of their communities, it’s reasonable to suspect that there is more measles circulating,” said Dr. Christine Hahn, state epidemiologist and Division of Public Health medical director at DHW. “As we’ve seen with other states around the nation, cases can begin to multiply quickly.”

Like I keep saying......THEY WANT TO KILL US!
From Daily Beast:

"The Trump administration will move to pull the COVID vaccine off the U.S. market “within months,” one of Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s closest associates has told the Daily Beast."

^Better yet, call on Sen Cassidy [R-LA] to start impeachment hearings because RFK Jr lied about vaccines to get confirmed.

Regarding vaccines, Mr. Kennedy has been insistent that he just wants good science and to ensure safety. But on this topic, the science is good, the science is credible. Vaccines save lives. They are safe. They do not cause autism. There are multiple studies that show this. They are a crucial part of our nation’s public health response.

Until the US Senate rediscovers their testicles, nominees will continue to lie in their confirmation hearings. There should be consequences for lying to Congress.
