Not all COVID vaccines are mRNA. Novavax, for example, is a protein subunit vaccine.

Yeah....next it will be MMR being pulled and then the flu vaccines. Then they'll go after Hepatitis and Shingles and TDAP, pneumonia, Gardasil, and pretty soon people will be getting polio again.

The weird thing though is that the rest of the western world will still have vaccines and in event of pandemic will deny entry to US citizens who aren't vaccinated. And of course, even vaccinated people from other countries will avoid travelling to the US.

So like during COVID, millions of Americans will be locked up in Fortress USA, dying because they aren't vaccinated like the last time around, while the rest of the world carries on.

It's not just rural or red-state hospitals. I live in Delaware County, Pennsylvania. We've lost three hospitals in the last two years. Delaware County Memorial Hospital (closest to my home), Taylor Hospital, and Crozer-Chester Medical Center are all closed.

None of these seem to appear on the map. The closures may be unconnected to the Big Bill.

We aren't really lacking for health care. Two hospitals remain open in the county. Others in surrounding counties fill the gaps...Bryn Mawr and Lankenau are near the county line, many locals seek health care in Philadelphia, and Christiana Care in Delaware is courting patients

If you haven't read about the Toys "R" Us bankruptcy, give it a read. It's a good explanation of how venture capitalists (VC) buy successful businesses, saddle the business with the debt from the leveraged purchase, sell off the assets for a profit (particularly the real estate assets) and then put the business into bankruptcy in order to cancel the debt that they incurred when they bought the company. This would be like someone coming to your door and offering to buy your house for more than it is worth, allowing you to live in it, only you have to pay off the loan- with interest- that the buyer took out to purchase your house. It's an insane arrangement.

Fun fact: the VC company that killed Toys "R" Us? Bain Capital- Mitt Romney's company.


That's what happened with some of the hospitals in Pennsylvania. The hospitals were bought out by an out-of-state venture capital firm which sold off their real estate and then forced the hospitals to lease-back the buildings that they had occupied for years. When the hospitals were no longer were profitable, the venture capital company tried to find a buyer. No big hospital chain is going to buy a hospital where the assets have been sold off, especially when there's a big lease obligation that will prevent the hospital from ever turning a profit. When the venture capital company couldn't find a buyer, they closed the hospital.

I get Chester and West Chester confused but if I remember correctly, the demographics of that area changed in the 1980s from middle class to lower-middle/lower class and the median income dropped as more affluent families moved away. This was a factor in the overall profitability of hospitals in that area but ultimately, it was the sale to the venture capital company that put them on the same downward trajectory as Toys "R" Us.

Now that Pennsylvania's government has flipped to Democrats, expect that there will be investigations and possibly charges for the failure of Crozer.

True. Chester is Pennsylvania's poorest city, and has been for many years...since Sun Shipbuilding closed. There's still some industry. Scott 1000 toilet paper is made there and major upgrades were recently made to the plant. But I'm sure Crozer-Chester Medical Center had lots of charity care patients and it surely wasn't profitable.
