Help: iMac question

I think that in my case, eyecandy is secondary to speed. I was surprised how quick, easy and painless it was to install Peppermint Ice on my laptop. I would guess that MintPPC is going to be a more time-consuming install, considering the fact that my hardware is, well... really old. However, the pleasure of having a vintage iMac running a new(er), faster OS will be well worth it.
 
could someone please tell me where the 'hard drive' is on this I want to chop it up with and axe. The imac is under my house gathering dust and spiders. But should some onw get into the hard drive one day it oozes with porn, its like having a suitcase of porn under your house that will/may be discovered one day. As its been there for a few years I kid my self that its self destructed. But is that wishful thinking.
I love my G4 but think its time to upgrade?
 
If what you want to do is disassemble it and physically remove the hard drive, then here is a decent explanation of how to do so. Best of luck.
