Help me build a workout plan

Some cheap sources of food that will fare well (I have the same problem too, don't worry);

1. Legumes and lots of veggies! legumes are usually dirt cheap too.

2. Substitute the chicken for a cheapish cut of beef. I got some rump steak here now, it might have a lot more fat, but fat is flavor too.

Other options that were in a recent issue of Men's Fitness that I have here are;
*Lamb neck instead of cutlets.
*Beef cheek instead of roast joint
*Chicken liver instead of breast

3. Milk! people have differing opinions on this, I love my milk and it is full of good things for your body. I usually have a largish glass of lite or full milk per day plus what I use in my coffee.

New pics taken right after I got back from the gym tonight.

Max 10 rep bench press: 105lb

Timetogetinshape; I see a lot more definition in your core and your pecs are considerably bigger. It may just be the angle of the camera though. And ignore Robbert, your face looks good ;)

I do feel like slowly but surely I'm seeing improvement. I'd like to see more progress in the actual weight I can lift... the most I can do 10 reps of bench press is about 105 lb, which is maybe 10 lbs higher than when I started.

Tone comes up very quickly- especially for guys who have low body fat. What usually happens with strength is that you see a big gain the first few weeks then the strength gains become slower and more incremental.

The strongest guys aren't necessarily the ones who look the best. Strength and conditioning are different things.

If you're happy with the way you look and the visual improvement, then just be patient with the strength gains- they come in time.

I owe you an apology I'm sorry I think you are a good looking guy and when I posted that bitchy comment I was angry im sorry

+1

I have been a big fan of listening to many of the MMA fighters about how they train for explosive power. They aren't BIG guys, but they are sure damn strong.

I got Rippetoe's Starting Strength last year and tried following the program but abandoned it after I started personal training sessions where my trainer wrote up a custom program for me.

I still think Starting Strength is a good resource to have around, because Rippetoe goes into a lot of detail about proper form. I still read it to check my form for the exercises.

I'm also agreeing with the previous poster that the strongest guys are not necessarily the ones who look the "best." Have you ever been to a powerlifting meet or a strongman competition? Those guys are ****ing strong, but many of them are not lookers by any means. If you saw one walking down the street, you'd probably think "this guy is fat!"

Chest and core have increased quite notably in the last while. Might be a result of lower bodyfat % or post-workout pump.

But either way
