Hillary Clinton now seen as 'Risky Gamble' for Democrats [MERGED]

Re: Hillary Clinton now seen as 'Risky Gamble' for Democrats

Saying and doing are two different things.

You honestly think that those of us who are saying we are going to vote Dem NO MATTER the nominee, are somehow lying about that and are going to what, sulk if Bernie is nominated and not vote?

I give you my personal guarantee that I will be on board with trying to defeat any Republican with my vote and my cash and time and support, if you want to level that charge, we aren't the ones you need to be lecturing - because by and large the people who are saying this know who the enemy actually is.

You'd better hope that if Bernie is nominated HIS supporters actually turn up, that demographic is notoriously fickle.

Yes..they are.

I will vote for Bernie if he is the nominee. I will vote for any of the Democrats ...period. I can assure you I will do exactly what I am saying I will do...and I actually vote.

Other than that..I have pretty much said what I wanted to say so far...for the moment anyway..

Re: Hillary Clinton now seen as 'Risky Gamble' for Democrats

I don't have any reason to believe that people who are saying that about Bernie supporters are going to actually do their part. That is all I am calling out.

Who speaks of cynicism?

Um...So...Bernie Supporters..ALOT OF THEM...very publicly and proudly admit they will not vote for Hillary if she is the nominee....so you are going to insist it is Hillary Supporters who are thinking this way as well?

Do you hear this a lot from Hillary Supporters?...or do you just think we are lying?

What does that even mean? Saying what about Bernie supporters? That young people don't consistently show up in November? That's true, that Bernie supporters aren't the majority? That's true, that Bernie supporters have said that they won't vote if Hillary is nominated? Have you been reading these threads?

Seems to me that you aren't "calling out" anything, unless you are accusing eastofeden and me of lying to you for some bizarre reason.

Yes I think people lie, not specifically Hillary supporters or people on here. Just because people say they are going to vote doesn't mean they will. I have seen some hate filled things coming from the Hillary side, mostly on Facebook and I don't have any reason to believe that they would vote for him if he did win.

People will sit out regardless of who gets the nomination.

People on here have also said on here they would vote for her if she did win, including myself. That seems conveniently ignored, just because of the couple people who rant the loudest on here doesn't mean they speak for the majority.

I get the impression that the main reason Sanders has few connections to Wall Street, and little in the way of baggage, is because he was never in a position of executive power within Washington.

He's an outsider, like Trump.

If he'd been within a party, and had held high-level positions, it's hard to say whether his record would much resemble Clinton's or not. He can run a platform based on ideals, rather than credibility.

It's interesting to see how destructive political media managers and parts of the media themselves have been in undermining the reputations of politicians. The gamesmanship from both sides seems to have bred cynicism from the public.

Re: Hillary Clinton now seen as 'Risky Gamble' for Democrats

Bernie went down hard in S.C. because he doesn't represent 40-50% of Democratic voters. I think that Bernie fanatics are all busy pretending not to notice that a large part of the Democratic coalition isn't far left, and isn't interested in paying higher taxes so someone else's kids can get free college.
I guess the United States SUCKS when compared to the EU. They get "free" college there. No wonder why this country is becoming a 3rd world nation.

If you had listened to what Bernie actually said, he plans on paying for it with a transaction fee on Wall Street. It's high time they pay back what they've taken.

Doesn't matter. Bernie said he wouldn't take PAC money, and hasn't. His campaign has been funded by supporters (voters), not banks/Wall Street, ect.

Bravo! Now go make it happen. Half of the Democratic party isn't with you no matter how you fund it - yeah sucks but don't try and pretend otherwise - or try and pretend that's somehow the fault of people on this board.

I find it strange that somone would make the effort to lie to anyone about such a thing. Perhaps people mean to vote then don't, but what possible motive could there be to tell someone that and then what, snicker about all through the election?

Of course there are people who say mean things, there are flaky people, there are people who are completely apathetic, I fail to see how any of this is somehow the fault of Hillary's supporters, or that they are any more guilty than anyone else.

A true socialist would compensate workers with ownership of the economy (securities).

Which is why Bernie is not an actual socialist.

He wants Medicare for all and free college but that will not fundamentally change the nature of our market economy.

People lie about all sorts of stuff and for very dumb reasons. And I didn't say this was the fault of Hillary supporters or they are more guilty.

I am going by national polls. Would you care for me to base my numbers off New Hampshire, just like you did South Carolina?

No, socialism is government ownership of the means of production. Ownership by workers would be a form of capitalism.

That means there are no privately owned means of production in Sweden or throughout the EU?

Seems to me that a bunch of people WERE basing their numbers off of New Hampshire, and South Carolina injected some needed realism.
