only caught about half of it - have it on dvr - will watch later

she's on tomorrow too

really interesting play here

her reaching out to fox viewers

she's basically given the bird to dailykos and moveon - who im sure will just further bury her

from what i saw she came off real good

didn't get into the rev thing much - bill pushed her - she did well

he let her off the hook a few times - on her anti drilling votes plus

but i think bill's in love

haha

anyone see it?

hillary on big bad fox news

gotta love it

maybe lance set it up

Re: Hillary on The Factor

So Hillary appears on Fixed News. Hysterical. Well, I suppose she has to go back to Rupert since 1/2 of the Democratic Party called her out on the fraud that she is.

This is still snooze!

The Dems wouldn't even debate on FOX back in Nevada, so for her to appear on Billy's show is something.

Maybe she's trying to appeal to the "I can't think for myself unless O'Reilly or Limbaugh tell me what to think," Republican vote!

So while Olbermann is blowing Obama on MSNBC, and Moyers is blowing Reverend Wright on PBS, what's O'Reilly doing Chance?

:jk:

I don't really want to know. [-X

Re: Hillary on The Factor

Saw it.

Hillary came off very well against O'Reilly. He hit her with some tough stuff.

She had answers and was cool collected in giving them.

More tonight. Getting interesting.

Very smart going on The Factor. No, Brilliant even.

She opens herself to independents and undecided elephants.

Obama could learn from her here.

Re: Hillary on The Factor

Virtually flawless.

Hillary Clinton faces the challenges she finds before her, she meets them head on and she carries the day.

If she wants to win, circumstances of the campaign pretty much required she go on O'Reilly, just as Obama went on Fox News Sunday (though Obama dissed Daily Kos and MoveOn, et al, by doing so, and also he didn't "take Fox on" as his campaign had said, so Obama failed to live up to his own campaign's hype). But if you saw Obama on Sunday and then see Hillary on O'Reilly, it's clear who's ready for any challenge, who'll be the better candidate against McCain and the better President.

Re: Hillary on The Factor

I didn't see the whole thing, but I admire her for having put herself in that position in the first place, facing off against a horse's ass who's also an hysteric, and thought she handled him astonishingly well.

Re: Hillary on The Factor

MY GOD that man is toxic. Going on that show is not just a matter of facing off against a tough questioner, there's something animalistic and insane about him; you can't debate him the way you might someone like Tim Russert, who at least is of our species. I hadn't watched O'Reilly in years because he's so primally upsetting -- a genuine madman and thug -- so for Hillary to maintain her poise, score some points and even display a sense of humor is deeply impressive. Bill Clinton would have been redfaced within seconds.

Re: Hillary on The Factor

^^ I agree, it was very interesting and Hillary was impressive although I haven't changed my opinion of Bill O'Reilly one bit. He's an arrogant, self-serving prick who bellows about being for the middle class working man when the exact opposite is true. His philosophy is "I'm doing just fine financially, why aren't you?", and his adoring fans are blind to it. Right wingers like Rupert Murdoch and Roger Ailes at Fox have to be laughing all the way to bank.

Re: Hillary on The Factor

She was great and the O'Reilly audience is the one that the Dems have to recapture. Democrats had better decide whether they want competence in the White House or feel good symbolism.

The clips impressed me in regard to how good Clinton would be against McCain as opposed to what an Obama candidacy would be about - Wright, Ayers, Rezco, patriotism, etc.

I do not agree that Russert is a member of our species, the difference between him and O'Reilly is only style - and O'Reilly maybe a little fairer.

Re: Hillary on The Factor

Sheash, you people. Come off it...O'Reilly's a nut, but he's not an animalistic primate.

The interview was fun to watch. I think O'Reilly went a little easy on her, but he did ask her the kinds of questions Democrats usually don't get asked, and she reacted well and handled herself well. I could almost see myself willing to vote for her, to be honest (which is saying something from a Texan son of two conservative Republican parents who would likely throttle me if they heard me even suggest a willingness to vote for a Clinton.)

Against O'Reilly and in that context and with a couple hard questions, she really got to shine in a way that Democrats tend not to. She actually pulled off a have-decent "natural" look, which is pretty unusual when it comes to Hillary Clinton. I wanna see the rest of it tonight. (Funny thing is, I tend never to watch the Factor...if I'm home and in a TV watchin mood I tend to go for Colbert...)

Also, Grantt is right (I say this at the risk of repeating what O'Reilly and his buddy talked about after the interview.) Independents and undecided voters (including Republicans that haven't decided if they are willing to vote for McCain) watch Fox. In addition, it has a BIG audience, and it's an audience that Democrats don't usually get to talk to when they're on, say, MSNBC or CNN.

Overall, it wasn't a bad move on her part and is getting her face out there among people that have only seen soundbites of her worst moments. It's also showing a cut with the far left extremists, which is a GOOD thing if you're planning on going into a general election with an electorate that WANTS a moderate candidate.

Re: Hillary on The Factor

It was interesting. She does well off script unlike others.

O'Reilly did go a little easy on her though.

And FYI, Fox consistently has higher ratings than all the "news" channels.

I don't consider Fox a news channel by any means like any of the rest. They are all infotainment kinda like long versions of Chat Soup. The difference being at least Chat Soup is actually entertaining. Everyone has their own spin.

Re: Hillary on The Factor

It was a brilliant move on Hillary's part to go on The Factor.
She is trying to win over the independent's and republicans unsure of McCain.
Fox news is what it is, But, O'Reilley has a huge audience to win over.
From what I saw, If Hillary had ran her campaign like she was last night, Obama would have been out of the race right now.
However, I think it is too late for her.

Re: Hillary on The Factor

Very impressive...she's getting rave reviews from the left and right for her natural ease and poise in dealing with O'Reilly and her comfort in handling the subject matter.

Dems need to quit running from this network....despite how bad it is.....adds cred when you go can onto the right-wing turf and hold your ground.

Re: Hillary on The Factor

I thought Senator Clinton was very eloquent & impressive against O'Reilly this evening......I did not see yesterday's program......in order to listen to Senator Clinton I broke my own promise--to myself--not to watch FOX News......I do not care for FOX News or the O'Reilly agendas......

Re: Hillary on The Factor

You know it's ridiculous that some people are giving her shit for NOT just cutting off half of the voting populace before the race even begins.

Re: Hillary on The Factor

I just finished watching the second part of the interview tonight. I thought she did very well. She is a much better impromptu speaker than Obama. She always seems to do much better on personal interviews and impromptu answering of questions than Obama does. She seems to have served herself well by doing this interview.

Re: Hillary on The Factor

bill and hillary have great chemistry

she's awesome here

he brings out the best in her - haha

loved her riff on pakistan - that musharif has not held up his end of the bargain - and we need to incent them more

why did it take so long for her/other dems to come on here?

unbelievable

Re: Hillary on The Factor

^ What incentive for Musharraf does she suggest?

she said that we need to make a stronger case to the pakistanis - people and govt - that it is in their best interest - to work together to take out the taliban and al qaeda - HC says that we supported musharif too much - instead of supporting "pro democracy"

that we didn't make our case
