Hillary WILL BE on Presidential Ticket in 2012

I don't think Hillary will challenge Obama in the primary, we will know by 2012 if Obama will have a shot at re-election, and I am very confident he will be re-elected.

But the question is now about Hillary. I cannot see any circumstance in which Obama does not choose Hillary to be his running mate. The only thing stopping that is if she doesn't want to be on the ticket, and doesn't want to be associated with Obama if she thinks his chances are bad.

But everyone knows that Hillary has political assets too large to ignore, and this may work out well for Obama. If anything needs to save him from the right-wing hate machine, shes probably the only person that can do it.

We dont know if Obama planned it this way, choosing Biden and keeping Hillary in the wings "just in case".

The irony in all of this is that Hillary might actually have been right about Obama, that people were too focused on change and didn't realize how difficult it would be for him to get any credit for his accomplishments because of the horrible recession looming over him.

Yes, that is unfair to Barack, but it seems that Hillary has benefited greatly from not having to be President at this time with the economy so badly damaged by republicans.

We know that the Democratic primary was the only real challenge Obama had in his path to the white house, McCain was just the sacrificial goat. The same thing seems likely to happen in 2012, where the Democrats will get to decide who is the next president even before the general election.

Why would he want her to take a position far less important than the one she's got? Do you think he thinks she's not doing a good enough job? Do you think he fears that his fortunes will sink as hers rise?

You're naive if you think Hillary is going to wait until 2016 to run when she'll be 69. That would make her the oldest President ever elected. You can bet your bottom dollar that she's going to challenge Obama, who's ratings continue to plummet month after month. Anyone who knows anything about Hillary knows she wants to be President very badly.

not only that but it would sandwich him within what would be called the bush clinton era.

hw has his eye on history, as he is already a man of history in so many ways.

I can't see Hillary running against Obama, It's just a no win position.

The only option I see for Hillary is if Obama's poll numbers are so bad he couldn't win re-election.

She's not going to run against Obama.

She'd beef up his ticket fort sure, but she's already doing well in a very high profile role.

Ah, now I understand. Somehow I missed this the first time I read it.

I have no idea. I think it's far too early to be strategizing about the Vice-Presidency in 2012.

he has hinted on and off that he would not mind being a one term president and that he was more interested in keeping his promises than a second term if it came to that. I think think he has enough chicago in him to just not run if he may not have an easy win, and then Hillary would trample anyone that either side tried to feild against her.

Hillary kind of scares me a little as a candidate, because she does appeal to the so called moderate democrats, the southern democrats, and women voters.

I don't know that for sure, that's just what the media says.

Plus she has the Clinton name.

that would scare a hetero republican, so I can see why it would scare you.

No, he would fear that with Biden as his running mate the opposition might be able to make a successful argument that he still doesn't know what he's doing. Biden is a gaffe machine; for every comment he makes that's insightful and valuable, he has 10 that are an embarrassment. Having him by his side, they would make the argument that Obama doesn't have an advisor in the VP that knows what they're doing and is taking what's happening seriously. Hillary would do away with that, because she's done a very good job as SoS.

That, and with her as VP, they COULD be setting up a successful Hillary run in 2016.

interesting... JB

I've read that VP's only damage the ticket, never really help it. You have to admit that most people with an ego big enough to run for president would never want someone upstaging them.

Hillary COULD upstage him, and as you said, Biden MAY injure him. It would not be the first time a president ran for his second term with a different VP.

I still think Hed be more likely to not run than be beaten by anyone if it came to that. He is the first african american president and he got saddled with Bush's mess.

But who knows... Obama keeps surprising us in unexpected ways... both good and bad.

Where does the media say that?

Oh for Pete's sake .....

I just shake my head in bewilderment with the attitude of entitlement that Hillary first displayed when she was campaigning, and to be very clear, she has my respect for not going out of her way to draw attention to herself while serving in the Obama Administration.

However, I really must question why people keep bringing her name up for 2012. What is it that prompts this and why is it constantly mentioned, out of curiosity? The "entitlement" mentality is sadly encouraged by numerous people, and I really scratch my head at what motivates this.

I think people consider the next one up to be her turn, which is surprising from democrats. That is an idea that gave the GOP Dole and McCain.

No way. Incumbents are so strongly favored to win that, unless something disastrous happened to Obama, it would be a fool's errand to challenge him for the nomination. And in all odds, he'll just stick with Biden for his running mate rather than replace him with Hillary, especially since Secretary of State is a way better job.

P.S.
You're naive if you think Hillary is going to wait until 2016 to run when she'll be 69. That would make her the oldest President ever elected.

Actually, as a little tidbit, no. Reagan was two and a half weeks away from his 70th birthday at his inauguration. Clinton's birthday is in late October so she will be 69 and 3 months in January 2017, hence the second oldest.
