HIV-positive porn performer speaks out

I could care less about cock sure men or how you percieve my words.

Funny how you will disagree with your own statements if it means being able to start an argument or useless debate on something.

I guess someone could say that because you spend so much time promoting and talking about yourself online that you're "projecting" because you're insecure and didn't get enough attenetion in the real world. Or that since you go on and on about how you eat healthy now you're "projecting" because you used to be a really out of shape slob in the past.

Working in porn? Oh that's just you "projecting" because you're mad at your parents, childhood and the rest of the world for how they treated you for being gay.

See... I can make dumb analysis too. :p

If someone hadn't already posted that triple-face-palm pic... this would be the perfect time to do it.

To me, if a guy is working in gay porn, he has homosexual feelings... well, I guess it depends on how the industry works. Do you go out and look for guys to do gay porn or do they come and audition?

I am not totally comfortable with the whole "acting gay" thing either even though I am gay. I don't think its necessary for one to milk their sexuality for all its worth.

Yeah. Because the promotional video produced by a studio can be an indication of what the model would really say when not being paid to say it.

It's hilarious that a subset of gay porn fans find it hard to believe when a gay porn performer says he is gay or enjoys homosexual acts, yet these same people gullibly believe these guys actually are straight. Hilarious. The world turned upside down...

It's hilarious that a subset of gay porn fans find it hard to believe when ...

Um... you know that I direct gay porn, right?

I'm not just a fan?

I mean... I'm a fan. But I do have a bit of inside knowledge.

I don't know Cameron Reid and I don't know if he's gay or bi or straight or what. I DO question a lot of the things that he's said. So who knows.

But there are quite a few actual straight men who work in gay porn.

Oh.. and get this... because of the new trend of gay men in gay porn... there are actually straight guys out there claiming to be gay or bisexual so they can get work. How's that for fucked up?#-o

What I am asking is so you go to them or do they come to you? "Meh."

God you're annoying. Whatever anyway. My general consensus is that a lot of these guys are not totally straight anyway. I am not one to believe in the whole being "born gay" thing and think that sexuality is more fluid and less rigid than most people believe.

If you don't understand me... I'll break it way down...

Sometimes guys come to us... sometimes we go to them... sometimes a guy is pitched at us by a scout and we'll work with him to see what scenes he wants to do with us.

But there isn't a "this is how it's done" and every studio is different.

That's why there IS no answer to your question. It's like asking me how long a piece of rope is.

Believe what you want. And you're right... a lot of those guys are NOT totally straight.

lol

Okay to make a summary:

your posts on JUB and your own blog are promotional-- And should be taken with a grain of truth. Will do. All Jasun posts, will be questionable!

Your company tests, verifies those tests with AIM, and shares that information with scene partners.

But will not break 'patient confidentiality'?

--- I don't think that counts as a 'patient privilege' when you are the employer. Many in your profession are claiming it is a matter of patient privilege, when it is not, because that privilege is broken as it extends out into the workforce. But I do give props to you, for following an 'honor code', even if it isn't a patient confidentiality you are following.(But you can only represent your business, and not any one else! You cannot account for every business, and there are some shady ones you will admit!)

AIM makes no profits off the tests(clearly), and they don't burden the state, as many have claimed; they get the industry to contribute to the services provided for the tests. But doesn't that defeat the purpose of a 'clinic' which by definition to assist and treat those infected and educate those that are NOT. Profits are always going to be apart of the process of running one, whether its AIM or any other clinic outside of the industry... so how does AIM prevent conflicts of interest, when the bill is being paid for by the industry itself. You have to admit that is somewhat a conflict of interest, that AIM will want to protect the industries bottom line instead of trying to provide a 'substantial' service to your talent pool.

I don't believe AIM has any exit strategies for their performers once diagnosed. I only know of ONE instance of where the diagnosis was made and then AIM called the performers manager INSTEAD of directly calling the actual person in. That is somewhat disturbing. I also think it is incredibly wrong when they don't return calls, and don't follow-up, to ensure the performer is finding ways to get medical attention OUTSIDE AIM. Where are the referrals? Do they make them? Do they have any councilor on hand to assist in a diagnosis? None of those details have been made known-- or at least I cannot find those details readily. AIM is suspiciously silent about its practices, guarded may be excusable considering scrutiny is inevitable with the XXX professional association.... but that shouldn't be the reason AIM shouldn't make an effort to be vetted in every way possible.

What is the rate of prevention? How many, on average, STI's do they test for and then offer treatment solutions for? Why isn't AIM sharing those rates. It can be easily calculated with the proper documentation and software, which typically is used in a 'real' clinic. Clinics have to prove their worth in every way--otherwise they DON'T get their funding! AIM has a stream, as you have indicated, outside of CA state health system. I agree, this is a good thing, but it also comes with some issues when you have a 'fat' system in place. A lot of oversight can occur in such a situation.

I just think its funny that Jasun said that he has his models wear condoms because he thinks they are sexy, not because they protect the performer. I don't buy that for one minute mate. I think the only way to stop HIV spreading in gay porn, where there is a lot of fucking, is condoms and thats basically what our little porn star friend said, and he's right.

Our models aren't patients. They don't come to us for treatment. If you don't want your results shared, don't shoot a scene with a porn company.

AIM doesn't get funding. But they're also not really a "Clinic." They offer testing and record keeping but not treatment. They DO offer counseling and information.

It's sad that someone educated in North America doesn't know how to put on a condom properly or understand what STDs even ARE.

You can blame "Abstinence only" for that, I guess.

It doesn't matter anyway. As long as I know I am responsible I guess that's what matters most. I think condoms are sexy too, but like I stated before, its more of a safety net thing, that I won't have to really worry about getting an STD from getting fucked and what not. I am sure there is still a lot I have to know about safe sex though, and hopefully I will learn as I get older.

So everything you just said is in agreement with what I said. AIM is NOT a clinic-- they are a lot more prone to ethical problems. They are not held to the same standards that a traditional clinic has.

I mean... not sure, really. They're there to help keep the adult industry safer from widespread infections. They do a good job with that. I've seen in first hand many times.

But basically you are dancing around that issue: AIM is insufficient as a solution.

I don't think I'm dancing around anything. I don't think AIM was meant as a "solution" as much as a "safety net."

So what is the problem with making it known if a performer has HIV on your blogs?

Unless you're going to have sex with them, it's none of your business, is it?

The other thing I am interested to know, who IS the councilor? What are their qualifications? Is there several of them? Or only one? What are the minimum standards to be one at AIM?

I'm kinda flattered that you think I know the answers to any of those questions.

(or... um... are you still talking to me?)

Well, if I was some random dude you blew, you'd want know.

But you're not. And Probably never will be.

You never answered my question, do you have herpes?

Just the kind that most people have. Cold sores on my lips. I haven't had one for years.

How about you?

Do you have a green card? You are a foreigner, since you are a Canadian!

I was born in Hartford. Dad was American. Air Force, in fact. Mother was Canadian. Ergo I have always had duel citizenship.

No green card needed.
