Probably the same reasons you are the way you are.

I dunno really, probably all the sex with men had something to do with it...

God doesn't disagree. The men who translated the original texts disagreed, and at least one of them was probably gay.

Read What the Bible Really Says About Homosexuality, or google that and be enlightened.

Opinion on why I'm gay?

Yes. I was born this way.

All I know was that I had no "Choice" in the matter of my Orientation. If I had to wager a guess, I was "born" this way and I feel there is a strong genetic factor that causes this.

However whether or not there is a trigger, which many psychiatrists speculate about, is a question we don't know the answer to. I am still baffled as to what that "trigger" might have been, because I certainly am not aware of one with looking back on my life. I certainly had no perverted uncle, football coach, etc.

If I had to form a hypothesis, I would seriously question whether or not what determines one's Orientation is the exact same thing that determines one's Fetishes, as well. Neither of these are really chosen. They just happen.

Sorry, I should have made this more clear: I'm curious as to why many of you think you are homosexual.

Ah I see, it's one of those questions. I can never fathom how people can't understand us being homosexuals. Twice when I told someone I'm gay they asked "How do you know? Why do you say you're homosexual?". All I can do is sit open-mouthed and say "Uh... I'm attracted to men..."

I've heard the argument that everyone is just levels of bisexual, and that plain old gay and straight don't really exist. I can sort of see where they're coming from - even gay men probably find one in several million women pretty. But I'm old fashioned, and say I'm gay because I am attracted to men, and men alone.

Just in case this is irrelevant to what you're asking, and that you are going for the over-asked nature vs nurture, I'd say that I don't really know. Until science isolates a gay gene we'll never really know for sure. To be honest, though, I don't care all that much, since it makes very little impact.

If there is a genuine interest in this discussion, we are fine with this thread. But if either the OP or any other poster here continue with insults it will be gone soon ..

Interesting reading but please remember the CoC:

8. Please do not use language that sounds like, stands for, hints at, abbreviates, or insinuates hate speech (including but not limited to racial, ethnic, sexual, or religious slurs) or illegal activities.
9. Please do not harass, threaten, stalk, spam, or otherwise abuse other users.
10. Please do not defend yourself against profane attacks with more profanity. Instead, report the post to a moderator and allow them to take the appropriate action.

And remember, if needed:

I don't care who started it.

Are you kidding? I was originally insulted. Get your head out of your ass.

That's why he was warning everyone, and not just you.

But then you had to go and tell a moderator to get his head out of his ass, so i'm betting this thread is gone.

As you will be too, most likely.

Damn, and this was keeping me from being bored.

Actually I thought he was admin, not mod. That's fine; but it's better than edited pictures of celebrities.

Ack. This is true. Sorry, Corny, didn't mean to demote you.

What other insight is there? What exactly did you expect to hear when you walked in here?

A majority of the people you might ask on here are going to say they were born this way. It's something that is hard-wired into us, just as heterosexuals typically believe they were born that way.

I didn't choose to be gay. My parents raised me in a loving home, and they didn't raise me to be this way. It is what it is.

A better question than "why are you this way" is "why should it matter?" It should not matter if a person was born gay, or chose to be gay. He or she deserves the same rights and respect anyone else does.

I do remember when I was little, I loved boobs, but that was a long time ago.

And after a series of personal events...I liked cock.

Don't even mention the nature vs. nurture debate. I hate it! When someone asks you why you're gay, does it hit you to ask them why they are straight? A friend brought this up and I thought it was a wonderful point. But I've talked to homosexuals who believe they chose to be gay, so I still am confused.

Hang on, so if this isn't the nature vs nurture debate, and it's not to do with bisexuality, what exactly are you questioning? I take it this means that we're not asking about why we're homosexual?
