"Hope and Change" are just words

somebody get security - LOL

i thought u were kidding about grindr maintenance btw :(

all these pretty boxes but no connectivity ;)

Chance, you should know better than to underestimate me. I know my shiz and won't BS you unless you are an asshole.

Chance, how many more anti-Obama threads are you going to start? Kinda alll seem the same. Stirring the pot. Consolidate, dude...your like the govt--give you an inch, you'll take a mile.:D

I think Obama has been one of the most honest leaders we've ever had...even when I disagree with him. U conveniently ignore the obstructionist Congress. Also, he ran on reforming health care...not the first to do so, but the first to make it happen. He actually told the truth and delivered on a key promise. My Dad, not a huge political follower, said (not an Obama fan either, although he's grown on him), "Why's everybody so worked up about health care, they voted for him, and he actually did what he said. Shouldn't he be praised?" The US public was for it until the lobbyists and Repubs started all their scare tactics like death panels and you'll never get to choose your own doctor again BS. Same thing happened to B Clinton...people were for it when they voted him in office until the public was frightened to death by those trying to preserve it.

Also, for a change, a president has endorsed gay rights. Remember on another thread when you were taking the high road against a business that supported charities tied to anti-gay rights. You had many memorable statements, including this one:

A company that CURRENTLY is anti-gay is not deserving of the business of a reasonable person, much less a gay man

Seems you're only pro-gay when it's some individual business exercising their 1st amendment right. When the rubber hits the road and a person with real influence like the president makes a bold 'hope and change' declaration, I would think that no 'reasonable person, much less a gay man' would continuosly effort to condemn him and sing the virtues of his gay-hating opponent.

Republicans showed themselves as giant racists during Obama's term, as they did something they'd never done during any other Democrat president - they just dug heels and said "nope, we're not gonna be part of this, we're just going to fight it". Keeping the country hostage and derailing the entire political process just because you didn't like the president from the get go is mildly insane, especially considering that he got almost on their side of the spectrum trying to placate them...

I don't think you actually read the threads

As for how many ...... It seems to me that the President has decided that personal attacks and demagoguery are his thing - war on women, immigration maneuver, Buffet rule, Bain - just to name a few - 60% of his ads are negative

His re-election campaign is the most cynical period I've encountered in my political lifetime

And his entire raison d'être was the opposite

Hope and Change is a bumper sticker

His political attacks are not what the country needs or signed up for

I talked about this a while back but I actually marched with the HRC in the pride parade and got my photo taken with Elizabeth Warren but I won't post it here because well, it is a porno site first.

Sammie, I think you need to step back and look at the Obama administration again. Read, watch, and listen to facts and opinions other than those that support the President.

In other words ... get educated not indoctrinated.

You might want to learn more about the church Obama attended on a regular basis for twenty years.

The emphasis of the church was Black Liberation Theology -- very racist.

If just three-fifths of his ads are negative, he's running one of the cleaner campaigns around.

When did we starting "signing up" for politcial attacks? Kinda reality, and have been for ages. I've seen plenty dirtier campaigns from national to local. Remember Reagan borbarding Jimmy Carter in the closing 2 months? Bush 41 blasting Dukakis...mocking him in a tank, Boston Harbor, and the released prisoner in MA? Dukakis was waterboarded by Lee Atwater. Bush 43/Gore was ugly with childish mudslinging. And then Kerry was swiftboated. I haven't seen anything out of the ordinary. Obama is right to question Bain...I don't know if there's anything to it, but there is sufficent paperwork and salaries during said period to make one dubious.

Campaigns really are bumper stickers. No candidate in their right mind is going to give us the specifics we need. And what detail they give is rather insignfiicant since Congress will change it anyway.

Is that because you're so educated on the facts? Which facts are you even referring? I'm pretty Independent as a voter...both parties are pathetic and are rather worthless greedy liars. To think I've been indoctrinated, ha! I voted in the GOP presidential primary in '08 and '12. However, I voted for Obama in the last general and plan to do likewise this year. I'd say I'm someone who does very much weigh both sides, especially since I don't subscribe to a large portion of either parties' ideologies. But, I do think Obama is a bold leader...he has tackled some of the most powerful forces in DC...the healthcare industry and the banking/lending industry. He made the decision to kill bin Laden. He has now taken the pro gay marriage stance which I certainly don't see helping his re-election. I do think he's compassionate and somewhat competent. He has been rather inept at dealing with Congress (which is why I think he's now taking it to the Repub in this election) and allowed Pelosi/Reid to run the early years of his administration, which was foolish to do from day 1. He has not been as transparent as promised (they never are). His TARP bill was a joke and a fraud. I would give his term a "C". I just don't think Romney would do any better and certainly will not advance gay issues...in fact, he is likely to deter the effort. If I thought Mittens were at least a "B" quality candidate, I would probably sell my soul to have him lead. I just don't see that happening; every passing week, I become more uneasy and disillusioned with him. The GOP could have sailed to victory with a thoughtful candidate, but they chose not to run one.

Interesting point.

As for the federal bench, it's going to change drastically no matter who gets elected -- and neither change will be much good for America.

If Romney is elected. things will change for gays & probably women, other minorities & poor people....for the worse

watch the video kuli - it's the opposite

What does the video have to do with your statement that 60% of his campaign is negative? That makes it a pretty clean campaign, in comparison to most -- counting ads on TV the last couple of elections, I've counted four out of five ads being negative as marking a more clean campaign than most. In comparison, if Obama's campaign is as you say, he's a great example.

Heck, in one race for Congress here last time, out of a dozen different ads, just one wasn't negative. Even an ad about how terrible it was to be negative... was negative.

go to mark halperin (from time) at the :22 mark of the video

That is irrelevant. He has not tried to do anything "racist". He hasn't tried to do anything "communist" or "socialist" either. And the Republicans never gave him a chance to begin with. They decided they were going to obstruct him BEFORE he even came into office. You might wanna google "immature".

I was also on the local Fox News that night too. Funny how they were the only station that actually covered Lizzie Warren marching in the parade.

As a Moderator it's the broken quote brackets that got my attention.

This is what Jack Springer quoted me as saying:

I do recall reading that post, but never making it.

And I've looked long enough for who might have made that post in this thread, and couldn't find it.

I've never met Elizabeth Warren in my life, much less had a photo taken with her at a Gay Pride Parade, much less while I was marching with the HRC, I personally deplore them as an organization.

If I had attended such an event, and she was there, I'd consider that one of "many" trophies that I would have earned on that day. :p

But someone one has either been "drunk posting," or just making shit up as they go along.

Oh, and Max! You're a Masshole!

 (*8*)

Sorry, no intention here to misquote you or anyone else -- by shortening the quote I was merely trying to focus on part of the post and not increase the length of the thread.

The thought of being in the same room with Lizohontas .... gives me the creeps.
