This week: More Books!

Visiting my old neighborhood recently, I spent an hour in the Gay Studies and Fiction section of a favorite bookstore. Those finds, plus a few mail-order treats, make up this week's list.

I haven't read most of these. Only three are erotica. "Bottoms Up" is mostly straight with one gay story (I think that's all). I like the spanking theme enough to read straight stories. I'm running out of good gay erotica in print and have started looking for mysteries with gay content. I'm excluding a gay mystery I just bought because I didn't like the way the author associated BDSM and snuff films. The story was otherwise good.

A few notes on titles that aren't self-explanatory:

"What the L?" includes commentary on a variety of topics from the very funny lesbian Kate Clinton.

Full title of the one third from the bottom: "Strangers: Homosexual Love in the Nineteenth Century"

"21st Century Gay " and "Queer" are commentary.

"The Christopher Street Reader" has little, if any, fiction.

You might be interested in my Goodreads list, where I've been making an effort to catalog all of my sex-related books. Sorry, I haven't added tags for most of them – gay, straight and kinky erotica is mixed in with non-fiction. Unlike many lists there, I plan to have mine distinguish between erotic romance and erotica that isn't in the romance genre. Most of the erotica on my list was written for gay men and not the romance market.

Goodreads is also a great source of explicit photos. Erotica writers sometimes need extra inspiration, you know. Here are a few. You'll see I'm not the only person with dolls.

This week - Sports and more.

Putting together snippets of overheard conversation and radio talk, I have figured out there will be some sort of major sports event soon. Something about football, I think. In an attempt to increase my attention to sports, I have done a little research.

Added together, there are 13 men in the two pictures, not counting the background. One is a bit difficult to see. (You might want to double check the count.)
