I see nothing "hot" in Hot Forums. It's a boring forum at the moment. Lots of stupid threads getting lots of stupid replies...

Am I the only JUBber who thinks the "Hot Forum" forum is disappearing up it's own ass?

The point is making disappear one´s nose up someone else´s ass.
 
You can blame the fact that Hot Topics is now as dull as dishwater on a handful of cliquey members who are dragging this place down with their inane, banal and repetitive mutual appreciation threads - as someone who has been here for a while (and seen how good Hot Topics can be at times), it does mildly annoy me to see the boards in such a static state. I know that I am not the only member who feels this way.

Many, many threads in HT really do belong in Fun and Games, I wish the mods would have a lower threshold for shifting threads to that area.

You can draw your own conclusions as to whom I am talking about, as I have been advised not to mention names.

But, hey, it's "all in the name of fun and I love you all" :rolleyes:

posting a bitch about a forum being boring or stupid is actually quite BORing and STUPID leading to ennui among the commoners...and, yes, it is infectuous.

This is a simple question, and I'm not trying to argue with anyone. Though I'm quoting Ben, this isn't directed at him but I feel he sums up most people's feelings. Is having several different threads complaining or discussing how boring ,or stupid, etc etc.... Hot Topics is, any better than the threads you don't like?

I have in the past posted a few congrats threads, and in hindsight wish I hadn't. I agree that the congrats, happy birthday and such threads should be done in PM's. I just think we're beating a dead horse here, aren't we?

It is not the mutual appreciation threads that are causing the problems - but it seems as if the many newer members are not making threads with some thought to them - besides, cocks, cum, ass questions, et. al.

We do not seem to be challenging ourselves as we used to - with thoughtful and insightful threads/postings etc.

I don't think it is a generational issue although I think there has been some shifting of sorts. Rather i think it is not drawing on experiences, education, type of work enviornment one is in, and or hobbies and interests to lead into threads of some depth and meaning. So many of them now - the threads - seem so superficial in nature, and not a challenge to one's senses and or ideas and or thoughts.

I know we have C&E for politics etc., but having a current event present in the HT forum does not hurt in anyway - as often it leads to fine postings and or to other threads as a result of the postings it helps initiates.

I shall conceed i have posted fewer threads with hopefully "off center articles." but finding them on a day to day basis ain't so easy. Besides my tastes change, and you might not like the oddities I might pick.:grrr: :grrr: :grrr: I shall try and do my share, if it is of any value to anyone.

Note - one of the other issues is that the threads get viewers but then they are not posting and thus there is limited feed back for everyone.

To answer the original question, it's what you make it. If you don't see anything interesting to read, then add something of your own.

If I see something I'm not interested in, I simply bypass it and look at something else. I'm not gonna complain about people's posts because what's stupid to some may not be stupid to others. Like the congrat threads and stuff... what's wrong with that? They're nice threads from guys trying to... well... be nice.

What's wrong with nice? It can't all be doom and gloom and bickering and dirty laundry, ya know (not that that's what everybody wants, I'm just using those few examples because I don't KNOW what everybody wants or expects). And the 'nice' threads are important to the person who posts them and probably just as important to the person on the receiving end. If people wanna congratulate each other or wish each other a happy birthday, so what?

Live and let live, I always say. Boring and cliche, but oh well.
 
actually, i've been here for quite a few months now and i don't remember hot topics being any deeper. in fact, i remember many more vicious fights than now. i think some people either miss the bitchiness, which is still here, just a little more hidden or they can't handle the fact that belamy and others have stolen their thunder... i mean life is like high school and everyone hates the popular jocks.

Well yeah, I mean there's nothing wrong with debate and differences of opinion. You're gonna have that anywhere you go and I believe some places need that on occasion. Bitchiness can be fun as long as you don't go overboard and deliberately try and hurt someones feelings. As for the downright rudeness? Well, I usually just skip over that unless I feel compelled to say something. But I usually don't get in the middle of the 'fights' because that's not what I'm here for. But we're all here by our own choice, are we not? I mean, if the place sucks for you (not you specifically, but in general) then why stay? Nobody put a gun to my head and said, "You WILL look at Jub every day and you WILL read the posts that annoy you and you're gonna like it!"

But hell, who knows, maybe I could use the discipline :badgrin:
 
if it gets too nasty the mods usually step in anyway. i've definitely had to tone down my personality after several bans in a row and i'm noticing others have done the same too but whatever...i still think this place is fun.

Me too. Never found anywhere else like it. And I'm comfortable here. If it ever gets UNcomfortable (and it has a few times) then I just back off for a while.

Simple as that.
