Hi, Araucaria,(*8*) The scary stuff came last night after Halloween! I could feel a strange presence here in this flat. It was not pleasant, and I felt threatened. I slept with my bedside light on. Then, also last night, the curtains in my kitchen fell down. I wonder if there is a poltergeist at work here? You see, England is a very old country, with a violent history, when people would get hung for even the smallest of crimes. Witches would get drowned on the duckking stool, or burnt at the stake. Then there was hanging, drawing and quartering! :eek: Not the happiest of histories. Gallows Hill, is a well used name. Many gallows were to be found at the top of hills. People were left hanging for days on end as a reminder that no one could escape’justice’ in the old, cruel way. Locally, in Market Weighton a witch skinned a young boy alive. She was caught and burnt at the stake.

The weather has certainly turned, and there seems to be no end to the stormy weather. I doubt I will get far on the bike at all.

Rob...you were having nightmares of being in New York? I'd make that trip to rescue you, anytime you needed. Besides, New York isn't bad. Maybe expensive, but I know it pretty well and could keep you out of trouble. Unless you insist on Central Park naked alone at 3 AM. Can't help.
