The Repugs hate us. Any gay man who supports the Republicans is a self-hating twerp who ought to get his head out of the sand and realize who our enemies are.

They vote their billfold / bank account and figure that money will buy them protection, justice, acceptance and love. Unfortunately, only the first two are open bought.

How can anyone with half a brain (much less all of their mental faculties) vote for a Republican?

One wouldn't expect a gay vote for Santorum. This is the guy who didn't say anything when a debate crowd in Orlando (a pack of north Florida rednecks) was booing a gay soldier last year. His most recent rantings are getting progressively more anti-gay in order to lure the far right extremist vote. As for Romney, he was for gay equality before he was against it but, then again, it depends on what group he's speaking to and addressing gay issues. But that's all republicans got...social issues that will never be resolved because they all involve personal belief systems.

I realize that voting is not about "one issue" and I suspect that is why some gays call themselves republicans. However, being in denial that the GOP is clearly anti-gay, is clearly delusional.

Being gay is hardly the most important thing in the world and should not dictate your vote. More important are, what kind of economy should we have? Democrats reject Capitalism, so what do they want? How long can we continue to borrow trillionS a year before it comes to a screeching halt? Do we want to replace the people and culture of America with an entirely different people and culture through massive abortion of millions, and replacement through immigration?
How can you possibly vote Democrat whey they do not or cannot tell us what the new economy they want to impose on us will look like?

bobbybee Some right wing queers are twerps, others are oversized. Whatever their stature, right ring queers share a sociopathy in supporting Republicans.

I'm a gay man & I'm a registered Republican.

Yes they can co-exist.

I believe in smaller government, less taxes, and more freedom for everyone.

I respect our brave men & women serving in our Armed Forces..

I'm pro-life. Why abort a fetus, when that baby could find a loving home with a gay couple?

I don't support illegal immigration or amnesty for illegal immigrants.

I believe that America has the force to do good in this world.

Personally I would rather not see either the Republicans or the Democrats gain a dominate (read veto/filibuster proof) majority. It think either case would be bad for the country.

Turn off Fox, Limbaugh, Beck, Hannity, O'Reilly and maybe you'll learn something that's actually real.

This statement you made is completely false.

Yes, a baby could find a loving home with a gay couple but MOST Republicans are against Gay adoption... So Ironic.

I hope people who identify themselves as Pro-Life also think that the death penalty is unjust. If you think it's okay for people to die in our penal system then you're not Pro-Life... you're just anti-abortion.

Democrats reject Capitalism

As a democrat, yes I reject republican capitalism. I reject free-for-all, no-rules, anything-goes, unrestrained capitalism and I reject the abuse, corruption, deception, fraud and greed and comes with it. I support responsible, fair and honest capitalism that functions under a common set of laws and rules that work for the equal opportunity and prosperity of all who choose participate. I support a capitalism and a democracy that cares for those less fortunate and works for the common good of everyone where we all have a chance of doing better. Capitalism is (should be) more than how much money can you make by taking advantage of other people. Capitalism should be a fair and honest system that builds not only wealth but integrity, a stable society, equal opportunity, independence, economic and intellectual freedom and a better country and a better world.

Ok, I had a post here, which is now gone. I will assume that was due to my over the top attacking [Text: Removed by Moderator], and repost the other part:

Benvolio - being gay is not everything, but that's what YOU are (or so I assume by your presence in this forum). The Republican party stands for denying your very existence, limiting your rights, making you unequal to heterosexual people in every possible way. At this point it is irrelevant what ELSE that party stands for, or what you don't like about the Democrats. It's about self respect and dignity.

Here are my thoughts on the subject:

A (Brief) Post on Gay Conservatives

And PS - the next time a mod decides to just delete a post of mine, I'd appreciate a short PM telling me which rule I've broken, so I know not to repeat the mistake again. K thanks.

^ Direct, personal attacks are not allowed in CE&P. It's in the stickied mod rules at the top of this forum. No harm to you personally but I would take a quick glance at them.

I'm pretty much the token Libertarian here. IMHO, that is about as far as right-wing LGBT people should go without any self-deprivation. However, not questioning both sides of the spectrum is fallible at best.

But that's like a black person saying "I don't want to ride the same bus as white people anyway" back in the 50s, no?

That's the key difference here - it is NOT about what your priorities are. It's about being part of a group in a time where openly discriminating against that group is acceptable. It is the last acceptable bigotry, and nobody should be ok with that, regardless of their political views. The only reason this absurd bigotry is still an issue in the 21st century is that unlike black people we can actually hide this fact about ourselves, which has led to monstrous amounts of self-hatred, shame, and has generally slowed the process of equality a great deal.

I am sure nobody who says "The Repugs hate us" means literally ALL of them. Obviously there are tons of moderate Republicans who don't even care about gay issues. However, it's not they who decide the course the party takes at the moment, and none of them are running for a presidential candidate. It's not a coincidence that what's-her-face that famous moderate Republican just resigned cause she was tired of dealing with crazy people in her own party.

When you come at me saying I do not have the right to "redefine" marriage, I should not be in the army and what I do is unhealthy, against God and repulsive, you give up the right to be treated with an open mind by me.

:grrr:

Loki, that is why I firmly believe if one is to be "political" they have to question both sides.

I don't think there's a Republican gestalt…

I agree. Adults can make decisions based on their own thinking.

It's children and fundamentalists who reduce things down to simplistic absolutes; Black or White, Liberty or Death!, 'My friend's enemy is my enemy', 'My enemy's enemy is my friend'
