I know what you are saying about the Bible. I started it a few years ago and when I got to all of the "begats", I gave up. It is tedious and boring. I was also amazed at all of the violence in the old testament. I guess that the New Testament is the more important part. I guess that you just have to persevere. I'll bet that most people never read the whole book and it could take one to five years to complete. Good luck.

You need to be completely fluent in Ancient Hebrew, Koine Greek, plus Aramaic ... and studying 'the original texts'™ ... otherwise you're not really 'reading' the Bible.
