How did you find your way to the JUB forums?

I think that I was looking for pornographic pictures and found this site. It might have had a different name. I didn't join at once but a few years later.
 
I was a member of another gay forum (which no longer exists) and a guy there (known as BenderBoy here at the time) mentioned in a PM that I should check out JUB..
I knew the porn part of JUB existed before then, but really wasn't interested in that at the time...didn't know about the forum though.
After that I joined :)
 
I read a very funny story about a love letter written to Drew Peters. Curious, of course, I looked him up and one of the first search results was a JUB forum thread on the fact that he was reportedly into scat these days. (The story was written earlier.) The letter theme was that DP shouldn't feel he has to do kinkier things to keep his fans from getting bored because the author would adore him no matter what he did. One reviewer of the short story said "Drew Peters" wasn't a real person. They ought to do their research.

Pure luck. I was doing a search back in 2004 or 2005 and stumbled upon it. I have come in gone in those years, hence the join date.
 
Well, I found my way to JUB I-don't-even-know-how-many years ago. It was during the tail end of the glory days of Corbin Fisher and Sean Cody because that was what led and kept me here.

I was looking for hints on which scenes had internal cum shots or cum-in-mouth shots, because those orgasms are usually more intense than self-administered handjob orgasms, and that's what I find so hot to watch.

The discussion forums about CF and SC weren't just informative, they were intelligent and witty -- a very pleasant surprise on a message board about gay porn.

For instance, I remember one Jubber named Asenath (a woman), who had this observation about CF's Philip after he had gotten an ill-considered haircut: "The face and body still say rocker boy, but the hair says 'I just pledged Delta Sigma Douchebag.'"

There was another, a guy whose screen name I forget but who was from NYC and very bright. The SC thread had taken a digression onto Chaos Men, which had recently featured a series a particularly skeezy-looking models. One person asked (these are paraphrases), "Where is Bryan finding these guys? The Travis County Jail?" This guy I'm thinking of piped up, "Family court! It's 'Well, the bitch wants her alimony and child support, and I can either give it up in prison for free or give it up on video for pay.'"

(Not that I approve of deadbeat dads calling their ex-wives bitches, but that is exactly the way a deadbeat dad in that situation would think of it.)

Far better discussions than anyone at some other website was coming up with at the time.

I remember that KaraBulut (an unforgettable name) was a moderator even back then, and he may even have been warning us to beware of the Evil Eye, though he may not have been doing it in Italian or Catalan at that point.

Those SC and CF discussions started to peter out as the quality of those sites did (the threads now appear to be shadows of their former selves), but I did keep visiting JUB every so often over the years, though I never signed up or posted.

Then, late last summer and fall, I was looking for some free gay erotic fiction (cheap bastard that I am). I read some entertaining stuff at some other website (along with one or two tales that were just gross), and then I came here and I found a long series of stories -- a three-part novella, really -- that I totally fell for. Hot sex scenes, yes, but also some very engaging narrative, well-drawn and appealing characters, some good comic set pieces, and really powerful emotions. Some of these people were truly in love with each other, and I was captivated. (I even cried once or twice.)

So I got an account just to send a fan letter to the author, and he and I still correspond here as friends. Gradually I started reading other forums and threads, but it wasn't until the end of November that I posted anywhere other than on the fiction thread.

And now I can hardly tear myself away.

As I've said before in other contexts (including just now in a relationship advice thread), that sort of dishonesty and subterfuge -- inventing it in the first place, and especially trying to keep straight what you've told people -- is just too much goddamn trouble.

Laziness as a tool for living an honest life. I recommend it.


Oh, and I am so familiar with some members because I do something that (to my endless annoyance) not enough people do: I pay attention.

The site was originally linkmeallover.ca and it was in a list of my guy’s xrated bookmarks.
I got a kick out of the forums because it reminded me of IRC and I enjoyed the conversations.

Damn. Years ago was the last time I signed in there and then it was gone. Just signed in again, my info still works, but only 3 members online. It use to have hundreds online at once. Looks like it is all about sex now though.
