How do I get thinner thighs.

Hi, I am kind of embarrassed to write this but they are the one thing I wish I could change. I am 26, 5'11" slim build with a little hint of definition. I used to be a runner when I was in school and I enjoy running for exercise. I have moved to Barcelona and lost some weight in the past 4 months (different lifestyle and diet) and now I want to take advantage of it for the summer. I prefer to be slim than built up and muscley.

I started running a month ago (2 or 3 times a week) about 3 km each time, a good portion of it is steps too. My stomach (my old enemy) is getting slimmer and my chest is growing, but last week when I was shopping for new jeans I just got really upset cause everything was tight around my thighs.

What else can I do to minimize the size of my thighs. My waist is now 32 but I have to wear 34 so that things aren't real tight around the butt and thigh areas. Any ideas guys? ..|
 
You could always try squats. That along with cardio.

I am not to clued up on it...but that worked for me.
 
Lunges will tone your ass. Hold relatively light to moderate dumbells and do around 20-30 per leg. Make sure to push up with the heel of your front leg only, not the ball of your foot. Use your back leg only for balance and stability.
 
Are your thighs large because they have gotten muscular from running or is there fat deposits in your things that you don't like?

I honestly think I still have some baby fat there, like in my belly area too. I am going to continue running and make sure I eat even better. Stop the one or two cervezas (beer) a week.
 
What kind of running did you do? Sprinters and middle distance usually have thicker thighs, and keep them. Marathon runners have very lean legs. Maybe try jogging 5-10k's?

And for God's sake don't give up BEER!

Versatastic picked up on why I asked the question.

Running short distances will make your thigh muscles and calves larger as your leg muscles get toned and begin to store extra starch (glycogen) in the muscle tissues. This will make your pants fit tighter in the legs. It may also build up your butt muscles a bit which may make the pants feel tighter in the seat. The weight loss in your waist will make the waist of the pant feel loose.

Let's see- small waist, nice butt, toned muscular thighs... what's not to love?
 
It's the nature of the beast.

I've been a runner for all my life.

If I have jeans that fit my arse, they're skin tight in the thighs. If they fit well in the thighs, they don't show-off my nice arse.

Solution: custom jeans. I've found they're not any more expensive than the nice designer jeans.
 
Where do you get custom jeans??? I have a friend with the same predicament. 30" waist, thick muscular thighs and a huge bubble butt that's hard as rock! He only wears outdated super baggy jeans so you can't even tell.

I bought a couple pair from http://mejeans.com/ a while back. I loved the options.

I'm not sure of other companies.
 
Thanks! Wow, those are expensive jeans. I never spend more than $30 for jeans, but my friend would probably drop a couple bills for a decent pair. God knows he needs them.
