我是同志。
Wo Shi Tongzhi.

As i see, the word "TongXingLian"(同性恋), in chinese, is kind of a scientific language, without any doubts that every chinese understand its meaning. but the word "Tongzhi"(同志), differing from its original meaning of comrade (which is commonly used in communist literatures and in the days before 1980s), gets this new acceptation among young people reportedly after its maiden use in hongkong.

Personally I prefer "Tongzhi"(同志) a better translation of word "gay", for the similarity that both words departed from their original meanings in history.

Somewhere I have a button from Soviet days that a friend got me on a trip in about 1980. It's from a marine Komsomal group, and it says "голубой патруль" ("blue patrol," but by slang "queer patrol.") I hope I haven't lost it.

In Hong Kong you hear 'gei' 基 as it sounds like 'gay'.

For example
佢係個基佬
keui hai goh gei lou (he's a gay/faggot/homo)

一號 yat hou (lit. the number 1) / 公 gung : "husband"
零號 ling hou (lit. the number 0) / 乸 na : "wife"
