Dolly Parton released "Dolly Live from London" on CD/DVD this past Tuesday, November 10th.
This set captures incredible performances of Dolly's most loved hits, as well as select songs from her 2008 release Backwoods Barbie. The DVD features 50 minutes of behind the scenes, intimate footage of Dolly on tour.

I think probably Whitney Houston's version of I Will Always Love You is about the prime example of takin' a song of mine that was so very simple and very heartfelt, and doin' it in a beautiful, grand, pop way. I just thought that was incredible. I'm always honoured when anybody records my songs. A lot of people say, "Oh, are you ever disappointed when people do your songs and they just slay 'em?" Not really, because they're still my songs, and I'm just flattered that they want to record them."

Well truth be told Dolly's had a couple of ratty wigs too, but overall the truth is the best sleep aid there is. So while you're cutting and pasting the rest of us are sound asleep.

I'm pleased that Dolly's video from 'The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas' was posted, because I think that you have to see & hear it in the context in which it was sung to truly 'get the feeling' - and you'll never forget it.

Whitney's version is one hell of an amazing 'torch song' performance, but for me, Dolly's is the real deal - understated, simple, but straight from the heart.

I'd just love for Whitney to get back on track...
