I would say that I speak 4 languages (English, French, Spanish and Italian) - that's to say I have a decent level which enables me to communicate in most situations.

In addition to that, I have some knowledge of a further 2 (German and Slovak) - but I only have a basic knowledge of these, so I don't count them in my language ability.

Really just two. English and French. I took two years of Italian but I wouldn't consider myself fluent. Far from it. When I try to speak Italian, I use a lot of French. LOL.

There's a differences from Mexican spanish, to central American spanish, to South American spanish, to European spanish. But as far as "large differences" it's mainly North, Central, and South American spanish vs. traditional European spanish.

Yup. If you meet Mexicans of middle to upper class they are just as proud to be Mexican as an American is to be from the US. And I have heard them say on more than one occasion they speak "Mexican". So you're not the only one. I dated a boy from Puerto Vallarta, Mexico back in 2000, and he lived with his family in the Conchas Chinas neighborhood, which was a very wealthy area. He, his family, and all his friends I met when down there visiting, were all very proud people, and stated they were Mexican, and spoke Mexican. *shrug*

Ok, that being done , languages I really SHOULD speak are whatever form of Spanish is spoken here in Colorado...I really had a problem at BurgerCringe yesterday when the person behind the counter asked me if I wanted 'shiz'...

I'm gonna NEED to pick up a little Bosnian because three of my six employees in my new job are from Bosnia...

I could have used Nepalese on Friday with my employee from Nepal...she might have even done her job correctly had we been able to communicate...

Actually I decided I will NOT work on my Spanish.
I will work on my ENGLISH ONLY as part of my belief that the human race should only be speaking one language and that taking time to learn other languages is useless and could be used for more productive things.

My point is countries should just accept English as their official language since most people have to learn it in today's world.

Take for example my poor shitty country Bosnia, all the young people speak English and they HAVE to learn it unless they want to be poor forever....
Almost anywhere you go..people speak English.

What would happen to Bosnia if English was the only language?

There would be no Serbian,Croatian, or Bosnian....there would be no nationalism.
Everybody would have English names and speak one language.

It would kill all the retardation in the Balkans.
