I did, briefly, until it was eating up my battery and I had to downgrade back to Windows 7.

I have the GWX Control Panel installed as free software on both of my computers.
It blocks all of Microsoft's misguided attempts to force their Windows 10 malware on me.
I'm not as worried when I eventually replace a computer and the new computer ALREADY has 10 installed...entirely properly.
If Microsoft gets too greedy, my next computer might be an Apple.
i bought a new desktop about 2 years ago
It had 8.1 installed on it
For about 6 months I had a flag up asking if I wanted to install 10 but I ignored it
Since then I have had to inducements to install 10
Is this persistant attempt to upgrade only a US thing?
Ignore at your own risk. I didn't dig for info before I registered for 10. So it downloaded itself in the background and kept throwing popups which I kept putting off. That worked (for awhile) then it force installed. Here's info on how to avoid being upgraded against your will.i bought a new desktop about 2 years ago

Just wanted to alert those of you who are still running Windows 7 or Windows 8 about this shifty tactic from MS to get you to upgrade to Windows 10: http://www.forbes.com/sites/gordonk...tner=yahootix&yptr=yahoo&ref=yfp#6042cb8b78b0
I never got notices, or invitations, to "upgrade" to 10. What am I? "Limp Fish?" Well ... that's beside the point.
My desktop is all of three years old. It came with 8, and I upgraded to 8.1. No biggie.
THEN, recently, it was refusing to do Windows Updates, even with MS techs in remote control. LONG Story! Physically took it in to the nearest Microslop store.
It was "renewed" up to 10, and I've been running it ever since.
Truth is, I'm liking it. Don't tell anyone I just said that!![]()

Microsoft has faced criticism for changing the pop-up box encouraging Windows users to upgrade to Windows 10.
Clicking the red cross on the right hand corner of the pop-up box now activates the upgrade instead of closing the box.
