So, I was at Denny's with my brother and two friends and a gay guy walks in with some friends. He was carrying a purse. No one at my table said anything. But the geezer behind me nudged his wife and they looked on in shock.

So, random anonymous poll here: how many people carry purses with them?

I have 4 (grey, black, canvas -- all subtle), but I rarely carry any of them depends where I am and the situation.

I normally use them like backpacks when I'm going to a friend's and we're getting ready or I'm doing errands and I shove crap in them and they're in the car I never actually carry them and use them like how women use them... I have a wallet for that.

I think they're pretty stylish in the right environment... and that's metropolitan for me.

Can we at least TRY not to start passing judgment on people?

More power to the guy who carries around any kind of "bag."

People need their shit. iPod, iPhone, iPad, mace, weapons... :D

I didn't pass judgement...

If I've got more to take around with me than my keys, wallet and cell phone, I carry a backpack. If someone wants to call it my "purse", they're more than welcome to.

This one wasn't a guy purse. It was dark brown probably a bootleg LV, but I couldn't see the bag that well without my glasses. :)

LV = Louis Vuitton.

And "bootleg" at that.

You didn't pass "judgement?"

:rotflmao:

Not only did you pass judgement, you were Drag Queen HATEFUL about it! ..|

YOU ROCK LostLover! (!)

I carry a messenger bag, but it's not remotely purse-like. It's more grown-up than a backpack, but unlike a briefcase, I can wear it over my shoulder and keep my (CTS-inflicted) hands free.

If I need to carry enough shit that I require something more than my pockets I carry a backpack.

Of course, I'm a student, so I usually have one of those on me anyway.

No purse here. If a carry a bag of any kind its either a back pack or draw string bag.

The poll is now 0-15 so right now no one on this thread is carrying.

When I'm a tourist I use a messenger bag. My partner has a bag at all times. If we have to worry about bullshit we'll never get to the stuff that matters, civil rights for example. Acting hetero for thousands of years hasn't done it.

PS. A purse by any other name is still a purse. So I call it a messenger bag AND I said I carry a purse.
PSS. Fashion comes and goes. Rednecks used to have short hair. Real men wouldn't go near a cigarette. Cigars only for them. And the list goes on.

I carry a coin purse in my pocket. Love it. People (men) tease me about it, but who cares?

It's ok to have one....if you are over 70 years old!! lol. That's kinda a old man thing. I had one in the late 70's/early 80's for my lunch money when I was a kid. I haven't thought about them since. I didn't even think they still made them. I have seen men with purses. It's always the flamer. Most are a step or two away from being woman anyways. I call it penis repellant. Huge turn-off.

Is it time for the threads of a few weeks ago again?

I sure hope not.

I don't carry a purse and don't think I ever would. I just don't have that much stuff that I need with me at all times. A friend of mine, however, carries the biggest LV bag I've ever seen... he also rocks stilettos from time to time. As long as he's comfortable I guess.
