Nearly every gay porn actor does it as supplemental income, not a main job. The good ones can make a nice sum on the side, but you'd be hard pressed to find guys who can make anything close to a living wage just doing gay porn.

What's a "good one"? Not just one who looks good, but who performs well on camera and on cue, is willing to do whatever is asked, and is pleasant to work with.

And yeah, I don't think they'll let you work for them if you don't have a work visa.

I'm not going to say that nobody makes that sort of money making porn (even gay porn), but those that do are the (ahem) top of the heap. The guys who, when you ask gay men to name a porn actor, are the first few names they can rattle off the top of their heads. They've got the fanbase, and they've got the demand such that they can demand (and get) a paycheck like that.

Right now, you're eighteen. Presumably attractive. And willing to perform on camera. That puts you in a really large pool. Between the relaxed attitudes towards porn and the wretched economy, there are more and more guys like you (18, attractive, willing). And with the advent of xtube and the like, the demand for porn isn't what it was. With the supply growing and the demand shrinking, the paychecks simply aren't going to be that large.

Maybe you're unbelievably attractive, exceptionally hung, a fantastic actor, and a favorite to work with. If you're all four, and you find an audience, you MIGHT be able to eventually get big paychecks. But I wouldn't consider that good financial planning.

Why do you think those sites are failing? SC I've never been into, but CF has produced, in my opinion, some of the hottest scenes I've ever laid eyes on. There are always models who seem to be going through the motions, but those that really seem into it make up for those that don't. Is it because they are g4p, or at least portrayed that way, that is turning people off?
