  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

How much can I make in gay porn?

It's big, beefy, masculine bottoms with extremely good bodies, handsome faces and big dicks that are making the most money for the least work.

YESSSSS! Why does your reply have to be so hot? ;P

Anyway, I agree with nate78. Even though I did enjoy some of the Sean Cody models, most of them stay for a little and then stop appearing. Some of them end up elsewhere or quit the business altogether. But with Corbin Fisher, some of the models I like have been there, and I enjoy their videos more than those from Sean Cody I guess the lack of something new is off putting to people? They do have that section where the guys have scenes with girls, which I thought was a nice addition, but I guess it's not enough.

Why do you think those sites are failing?

when I say they're "going nowhere" I mean "they're not going away... they produce excellent content and deliver just what their audience wants. But they've recently gotten more competition from sites that are offering gay models."

The gimmick of straight men having gay sex is less of a draw than it used to be.

As far as straight guys being as good as gay men... let's not forget that Brady Jensen was "straight" on Sean Cody and Corbin Fisher featured a very "straight" Mason Wyler.

So take from that what you will.

I had heard it was about $700 for a scene but I thought I would look up the answer.

=========================================

In gay porn, actors usually make more money than their male hetero
porn counter parts. According to statements made by gay porn stars
in Dave Kinnick's SORRY I ASKED, the average gay porn star makes
about $500-800 per film, whether it's one scene or several. Some
gay porn stars, such as Joey Stefano and Ryan Idol and Jeff
Stryker, have claimed to make up to $1,500 per picture due to their
star drawing power.

Newcomer gay porn star Dave York says that salaries for newbies to
gay porn now run around $1,000 per picture, and the Adam Film World
Gay Video 1995 Directory says that Ryan Idol commands upwards of
$10,000 per movie now.]

How much do male porn actors make, and how are they paid? I mean when you first get interviewed, do they pay by the inch, or by how attractive you are in general or by how much prior "profesional" experience you have in the industry. Do you get paid royalties for every dvd sold or every pay per view porn site visited? The reason I'm asking is that I'm just getting my feet wet in this business and thus far I've recieved a few "low-ball" offers and one offer where I could make over $1,000.00 per scene; but I have no frame of referenc to know what I should be getting for my perfomance.

You can make anything from $50 to $1500 per scene
. You get paid per scene, and nothing more. No royalties, no inches, nothing to do with your attractiveness.

Here are some more ideas about how to get involved.....

check bold above.... and that is all before taxes, right? seriously.... If you're 18, in Europe then go get a fucking grant or apply for scholarship and get your education at a top-notch uni instead of thinking about doing porn.

jay-sus!... smack you!... #-o

My studios pay anywhere from 500-2500 per scene. It just depends on how you look, what you are willing to do, if you are on other sites etc. We don't really have twink sites we shoot for so I can't help you out there. Another issue is most studios in the US only shoot guys with valid US id's.

Did you not notice the year? 1995. You know, back when if you wanted porn, you had to pay $80 for a lowgrade video tape or $15 for a sketchy magazine. Now you can get tons of passable porn for free, or lots of high quality stuff for the price of a decent meal. The porn companies aren't pulling in that sort of money now, and that's going to be reflected in the money they pay out.

When studios started to drop the whole "this guy with the cock in his ass is straight and is hating every second of this' and went with "this guy is gay and is loving every second of this," the sales went up.

SC and CF are going nowhere. But they're getting good competition from sites like Cocksure Men and Randy Blue who use a lot more gay models. And as the big studios like Titan and Falcon and Colt grow their web presence, that trend continues to grow.

Didn't you work with the two guys who claimed to be straight and best friends? There's a whole behind the scenes film about it.

Twinks come cheaper by the dozen. It's big, beefy, masculine bottoms with extremely good bodies, handsome faces and big dicks that are making the most money for the least work.

the more "extreme" stuff tends to pay less than a lot of the straight-forward hardcore.

Sadly, no studio is going to fly you to Los Angeles from Europe. There are studios that shoot over there.. Men at Play, UK Naked Men, Tim Tales... other than Bel Ami, few of them are shooting "twinks."

The whole "Twink" craze has died off and the Gay For Pay one is going away. Now it's all about hot gay men who actually enjoy the sex and yes... they can have some meat on their bones and be a bit older.

It's going away? Seems to me like it's more popular than ever and I can't ever see it going away.

Oh, and I don't know if anyone has mentioned this yet but many companies will not want to hire you or find a reason to release you from your job if they discover you did porn. Something to consider if you decide to go that route.

PS: LMAO @ Mason Wyler passing as a straight guy.

Right, gotcha. Thanks Jasun. ;)

Darn...I'm always too far out front! lol!

How much can an 18 year old, slim, good and very young looking guy (Twink appearence I guess) make in gay porn? I'd be willing to do the slightly more 'extreme' stuff if there's a lot of money involved. When I say extreme, I mean extreme..

I'm NOT gay, just looking to make money.

I've heard it's a lot easier to find work in CA is this true? Could you do work in CA when you live in Europe or do you need to become a 'US-Citizen' to do any sort of work there?

Any help/info/advice appreciated.

Cheers!

Dude, there are a million other ways to make money without getting into porn.

Thanks for all the replies!

I do know what 'extreme' is but the things that used to be extreme aren't really extreme anymore to the point where the things that are 'really extreme' are illegal. Don't undermime me by implying I don't know the meaning of extreme, I know my way around the internet.

Regarding porn it seems like my chances are slim...

How much can an 'escort' make? (By escort I mean prostitute) I never said I was hot, I said I have a very young, boyish appearence, girls always say i'm 'cute' but never hot. I guess it's the type of appearence that appeals to 60+ heavily overweight pedophiles. What do they pay per hour? Surely it has to be quite a bit? How many young-looking 18 year olds would want to have sex with fat old hairy men? At least this has the advantage of there not being videos of me out on the internet for all eternity..

Even if it's just a couple hundred a day, if I do a lot it could be up in the tens of thousands a year, if I do that for a couple years, that's a lot of money.

I guess it all depends on whether there's a 'demand' out there? Is there? I live in the UK by the way..

Oh and i'd be willing to do 'extreme' stuff which would bumb up the pay per hour wouldn't it?

right, you are accusing people of pedophiles ....
Are you a nice person ?

I don't think you will make any money with this sort of friendliness or you are very nice in real life.

I know you're looking to make money and I know the economy is bad and the job market isn't very fair to young adults without much professional experience but there's better ways to make money that won't ruin your chances of getting a job in the future. If it's about the allure of making a lot of money and having sex with hot guys than I think you should reconsider that. The idea of doing porn and actually doing it are a bit different.

Plus, porn studios are very specific with the types of guys their looking for and an industry based on looks is subjective by nature. Anyone who doesn't have the "look" they want isn't even considered. When I was thinking about trying out modeling a few years ago an agency told me I was a couple inches too tall even though I have the "look" this international modeling agency was looking for.

And if you do get accepted you probably wouldn't be doing a shoot everyday so it's not a numbers game of how many shoots you can do per day or week. I'm guessing they rotate the guys who work with the studio.

Escorting is something that you can do on your own and it has less off chance of ruining your resume but it also comes with it's fair share of issues. You may have a client who doesn't pay, you need to screen through clients to make sure you find one you trust, you may get desensitized to sex, etc... You need to be careful and consider everything if you're thinking about getting into some sort of adult job. I would consider doing it only as a last resort if you really need money.

Despite my mixed feeling for getting involved in the adult industry if you're just thinking about it as something to try it out for yourself. You can decide if it's for you or not once you start going through the actual process.
