  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

How much do porn performers make?

contributor just means that he donates money to JUB.

I don't know... I don't think there is that much money in porn personally. Soilwork... we're still waiting for you to grace us with your presence on this one.

Actually, it doesn't mean that at all. A contributor is a content producer who has the ability to post attachments of their produced material in their threads. They have agreed to share hot sexy photos and have signed and sent in a statement to JUB that we have permission to display the material they post and that everything they post is of models over 18 years of age. It was a way to put hot photos in the forums and not have to worry about copyright issues.

This was actually a very interesting topic and thread till it got railroaded.

Please stay germain to the subject matter at hand and leave your personal bullshit elsehwhere.

Criticizing contributors should be a bannable offense.

I doubt I could disagree more.

When you enter public life and make your image, lifestyle and conduct a marketable commodity there is a price to pay. People are entitled to have an opinion about what it is for sale... YOU!

Welcome to the free market with all of it's wrinkles.

Anyone who thinks there is no cost for making 'millions and millions of dollars' selling their sex or being videotaped getting your ass ravaged by a washing machine agitator is deluding themselves. When people use their marriage as a marketing tool or a point of publicity they can reasonably expect people to notice if it all goes to shit in short order.

I actually quite like Ralph's porn, though I confess I have never bought any. That said, I'm a bit amused that he feigns outrage when someone blasts his very public life. What exactly do you expect, that everyone is going to love you?

I'm thinking it's too bad so many of the posts in this thread were removed, (weren't they, or was I dreaming?) They perhaps showed the truest insight into the life and mind of a porn 'star'. Now that is interesting!

missed the drama, but pierre is a sweetheart;)

500 a ady would make more sense than what i recall reading

I'll bet that is what Michael wrote and I misread it

its a shame they dont get royalties since they rarely have a very long career

family and friends finding out
I read an interview about Ron Jeremy where he said that his family knows about his porn "career", but I'm not sure if this is true.

I wonder how much guys on sites like Sean Cody Corbin Fisher, Randy Blue etc make?

i have a buddy who was on Sean Cody he only did a solo because he has a girlfriend. but he was paid 1000 for the solo he also told me that to do everything like fuck and get fucked and oral , rimming stuff like that he was offered 5500 but he turned it down so the most these straight dudes get paid on Sean Cody to get fucked is 5500. if i was straight that wouldnt be a enough to put on tape but it would if it wasnt on tape for sure.

Somehow, I'd rather payoff my debts over a few months rather than over a few scenes...

Very interesting thread! I know it was said that getting a job in acting after having done porn is difficult to do but there are plenty of actors that have done porn and are not singled out or anything. An example is Kelli McCarty who played Beth Wallace on Passions. She did some porn movies and I don't think it came back to haunt her or anything...(and wasn't there a Trading Spaces guy who had done porn in the past...I do not know for certain but read that a long time ago). I want to get into porn in the summer after I've gotten to my ideal body size and look as hot as possible because I don't want to just settle for less, I want the real money!

A few years ago I did an extensive worldwide analysis of pay in the sex industry for a documentary series. It was extremely thoroughly researched in over 20 countries and included the contributions of many industry experts, observers, economists, financiers and lawyers etc.

I interviewed boys and girls who earned from $50 to $1500 per scene - with the majority in the low hundreds. Scenes took up to 8 hours to film and expenses were usually not paid to get to the location or for wardrobe etc. Working conditions and protection were poor or non-existent by the standards of the TV and movie industries. So was the technical standard of production, but that's another point.

Out of over a thousand interviews I met no one directing, producing, working in production or appearing in front of camera who earned remotely what is earned by the equivalent person in a small independent documentary TV production company on a daily or annual rate. I did meet a few rich distributors in the straight porn industry, none in the gay industry.

In the last 10 years Eastern Europeans have vastly undercut the US and West European market rates - 100 Euros/dollars per scene is common in places like Hungary where average incomes in the general population are 10% of those in the UK, so to them that is good money.

Porn performers generally are paid by the scene, own no rights in their work, work randomly and only occasionally, and have very short careers, sometimes as short as one scene. They are usually young and are employed 'casually' with none of the benefits or security available to employees in the EU, for example. Most have other full time blue collar jobs. Most are obviously young, uneducated, not very intelligent, and when you read quotes that they earn 'big money' they are comparing themselves to other teenagers from the same background, not a lawyer or the CEO of Walmart.

Think about the top movie and TV stars and then think of the very most famous porn stars of all time and you instantly see that if you want to make money - work in the 'legit' sector. Even as a non-speaking extra you will likely make more income.
