Yes, believe in karma.

I laugh at those that make karma into another "god" though.

Karma is NOT doing something good and expect a good thing in return.

Karma is NOT immediate. It may take years to see the consequence.

You will attract what you give out the universe.

Rubbish. The universe doesn't give a shit about any of us -- it's a machine that will grind us up and spit us out if we happen to be in a grinding and spitting place when that happens.

I've seen people who've done good all their lives and never asked for a reward -- and they're now unable to even care for themselves, and they've never gotten a reward.

Karma is bullshit.

Oh my,

Bammers big brother has een playing in the Lemon Grove again....

I used to date a chick named Karma but things didn't work out,
her mother Saffron loved me but I just couldn't curry any favors
with her old man Tumeric.#-o

Stuffing singles in her bra every Wednesday lunch break doesn't constitute 'dating', Leftykins.

(I liked your wordplay)
:D

It's my experience that in 9 out of 10 times people with money, success and happiness are the ones who least deserve it, so no, I don't believe in karma.

you can't ever truly know if someone's happy.
and if one 'deserves it' or not it's also very subjective,.

Ahh but if you can convince people they'll be reincarnated, then you can tell them that all their karma points translate into super elite platinum status in the next life. It doesn't get them free upgrades to business class or complimentary luggage, but it should be good for some extra wealth and handsomeness. You know, eventually...after they're dead...

There's just enough coincidence in life to make some people believe.

But I've seen too many people in nursing homes who have sacrificed most of their lives to help others, and they're abandoned with no one to help or even visit.

not defending karma but..

usually, people who have sacrificed most of their lives to help others, get those people who they are helping, so used to his/her help to the point that they(the ones being helped) don't see that person as another human being, and therefore don't care about his/hers wellbeing.

think about the parents who overprotect their children and the ones who teach their children how to live without them (taking care of your own clothes, helping your parents cleaning up the house, taking care of your meals etc etc). The last ones will probably care much more for their parents then the first ones.
i've heard a LOT of stories like this.

if you don't respect yourself as a person, and if you think you have the obligation to SERVE other people you will end up alone, because the other people won't respect you.

that being said, you could witness this and still believe in karma, depending on the definition of karma of course

!oops!!oops!I don't know for shit about karma or occult/stuff!oops!!oops!

BUTT

I know soreknees has become SEASONED and the jubber both

I believe in shopping karma, get overcharged in one store, soon i will be undercharged or find something cheaper than i expected.
Recently I started saving money for a trip, but I want to go see a couple movies this summer but didn't think I could afford them, then I went to a pirates festival a couple weekends ago and out of a hundred keys, I picked one of the three that open a chest of treasures and won 5 free movie tickets and a large pizza, and I never win anything.

If karma indeed existed there would be untold numbers of bastards who would have gotten theirs LONG ago....... :grrr:

Karma doesn't exist. I believe that if someone does something bad to you, then you would hope that he gets his. At the end of the day how much of a better person are you really if you hope something bad happens to the person who did you wrong? you would be just as bad as the person.

Had I still believed in Karma, I would've lived AND died one of the world's most angry , bitter and sour person.

Now my view is that I'm one of the luckiest suicide suvivors out there.(I heard it's the ninth leading cause of death.) Not many suicide survivors can boast that they gave someone ten years(and counting) of life.

Believe in karma? Not in the slightest.
I have a meeting tomorrow with a very lucky, very successful man who is also dishonest and completely without scruples and is universally recognized as such. While not oblivious to the harm he causes others, he is unmoved by it. I believe he leads a happy, even charmed life. He and others like him are the reason that hell was invented, as he will not be brought to justice in this life.

It's fucked up because I think the generally people that do the smallest bad deed end up with the worst luck while the people that steal, kill (and not been convicted), liars, and just all-around assholes are the ones in power and they have less bad shit happen to them than the people that try to do good things.

"You reap what you sow." --> this is the western version of karma and the very basic meaning of karma. And that's why it's real. Everything that happen will trigger something else in the future, anytime, and that happening itself will cause another thing to happen. It's an endless cycle.

Actually, it's more complicated than that. PM me if you want to know more.

I hate the saying "what goes around comes around".

What if you are in the car accident and you are dead.
Comes around what ?:?

Had I still believed in Karma, I'd probably already would've been dead already......or if I were still alive....I'd wished I was dead EVERY SECOND of the day.

Had I still believed in Karma, I'd probably be sitting in jail or homeless ,drunk AND high infected with AIDS.

The concept of Karma has hurted me like no other.

It has been four/five years now that I STOPPED believing in Karma......and I'm currently a pretty happy go lucky type of person.

That's where the whole reincarnation thing comes in.

The notion of karma can clearly be seen to not work in the here-and-now, so the concept of a 'next-left' life (in which one is either 'punished' or 'rewarded' for one's behaviour in 'this life') is needed to keep the whole fiction going.

Much like in Christianity with its 'heaven' and hell' nonsense; on a day-to-day basis it is clear for all to see that the 'righteous' are not rewarded and the 'wicked' punished, so once again a doctrine of some sort of next life involving reward or punishment is needed to explain this fact away.
