How Trump Starts Martin Luther King weekend by Attacking John Lewis

The victim? Ha ha. Please. If he can't take criticism, he should shut his mouth. But obviously dems never learn. By their shameful antics and fake news, they re doing more to help Trump than anyone else. Kinda how you and your team bash Trump supporters.

Yes.

If Trump can't take criticism...he should keep his mouth shut.

Eloquence is not something that I expect to flow from the lips of Donald Trump, therefore I am not surprised by his rhetoric.

That applies to His Majesty Donald J. Trump as well.

And 'criticism' is a far cry from public humiliation and abuse. Trump is an expert at that.

When first attacked, isn't it acceptable to defend your self? That's how I was taught. "Never throw the first punch, but man, make the second count." That advice has served me well.

That is censorship. Trump was not attacked. He was criticised.

Trump talks the big talk about the Constitution, but he attacks anyone who uses it by criticising his actions. In 5 days, Trump will swear to uphold the Constitution, but he has already failed far-too-many times, virtually every time he takes to Twitter.

Hogwash. The president also has freedom of speech which includes the right to criticize his critics. It is you who wants to limit free speech.

You are another one who I wouldn't expect to understand that real presidents just don't do this. There is a whole other standard that they must adhere to.

Only dictators and childish tyrants respond to criticism with personal insults and taunts.

Still not getting it...no surprise.

Trump had a golden (pardon the expression) opportunity to respond to the criticism like an adult and a leader.

Instead he has once again behaved like the boorish juvenile that he is and has always been.

Like hell I do. It's your freedom. Do what the hell you want with it. But Trump's constant public attacks toward people who criticise him is censoring them. He has the right to criticise them, but he doesn't. He attacks them and publicly humiliates them. There is a big difference.

The media can't criticise him. Americans can't criticise him. Nobody can criticise him without being attacked. That is the behaviour of an immature school yard bully.

Not allowing anyone to criticise him is CENSORSHIP!! To anyone with a working braincell, Freedom of Speech appears to apply only to you and Donald Trump, your friends and Trump's friends. If anyone is limiting Freedom of Speech, it is Donald J. Trump.

Nonsense. Everyone is free to criticize him and he is free to criticize his attackers. That is freedom of speech. There is no censorship, but you want to silence him.

The people that cry about freedom of speech the most seem to be the people who don't actually understand what it actually means.

Boo-hoo big man baby Trump can't take criticism like an adult. If he is going to react and talk like a child, he is going to be treated as such.

Criticising is okay. Attacking and humiliating people publicly is not. Trump does not criticise. He attacks. Was he right in attacking the Khans? Was he right in attacking McCain? Was he right in demanding that Baldwin stop? Was he right in trying to get people to stop mocking him? That is all censorship!! He's telling Americans, "If you criticise me or mock me, I'll rake you over the coals or see you in court."

That Is Censorship!! That is NOT Freedom of Speech!!

The man is an out-of-control child throwing temper tantrums and you're just to devoted to him to accept it.

Read the news (and not your precious media) and you'll see that Trump is facing criticism around the world for his childish, non-presidential behaviour.

^ I've heard and read reports about Trump threatening to destroy people for criticising him, accusing him of unpresidential behaviour, and not giving him money when he wants it.

He currently has over 4,000 open lawsuits, and 75 of them are pending. How can the man lead the United States when he'll be spending so much time in court?

I don't remember any president this corrupt before his inauguration, and this might be the most corrupt government ever.

Rep. Lewis is a joke, but he is still a world above Trump.

Lewis should have kept his mouth shut. And he's wrong; like it or not, Trump is a legitimate President. Sure, Trump could have responded in a more dignified manner or not responded at all, but he didn't. He's Trump, for chrissake, and he didn't get elected President by turning the other cheek. Besides, I assume he'll win this one with the public, and will continue winning until people tire of the tirades and loose patience with him. Unless, of course, he performs and actually brings about the seemingly impossible miracles he's promised. Besides, half the time he sounds like the most liberal of Democrats. He wants to go after the drug companies! He wants cheap health insurance for all! He wants to revive the inner city!

The Black Caucus crowd should shut up for the time being, as should the holier-than-thou Hollywood liberals, not to mention the gays who--all statements and appearances to the contrary--keep claiming that he's homophobic. They're going to simply drive more voters to the Republican Party.

Just in case you overlooked The First Amendment, for even we foreigners can read:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances

One of the many blessings of the less than perfect democratic system of governance is freedom of speech, balanced by libel, and slander laws that restrain those with a destructive agenda. While not expecting Donald Trump to emulate the theatrical performances of Laurence Olivier I hope that he will rise to the challenges of high office, by not engaging in gutter level abuse of those who dare to offer opinions that challenge Trump's view of the world, knowing that criticism is fertile ground for self improvement.

Hahaha, what a load of shit.

And yea, people shouldn't "shut the fuck up", funny how people like you haven't said Trump should shut up even when the majority of what he is saying is insults, not actual criticism.

He is a child, he wants to act like one, he will be treated like one.
