Hunger games

Yes, they are described as having dark skin. That would have been enough for me.

There's a whole discussion about it on the first page of the thread.

Ooops....I scanned/skipped through the first couple of pages in this thread and never picked up on that conversation......

So then it's a non issue and people are upset over nothing...

The Flick was Good...It's very "Twilightish" for the Teen crowd but the killings makes it less Soap opera-ish...You're not gonna roll-your-eyes through this flick....The Theatre was PACKED with Grown-Folks...So the adult crowd is pushing the ticket-sells..

Jennifer Lawrence(X Men First Class) & Josh Hutcherson definitely carried this film...The level of intensity Jennifer brings to her performances is too good for words...Her eyes and the way she looks at you will either cut-you-deep or bring you to your knees...Very FEW Actors have that...I wanna see more from her in Dramas and I expect to see her winning an Oscar one day...

Lenny Kravitz is just Beautiful to look at...After all these years, no matter what role Woody Harrelson plays he Ooozes Sex-appeal...The Great Donald Sutherland delivered as only he can..The studio should have cast Kiefer Sutherlund to play the Prime-Time host of the Games...

I was expecting more of an edgier cliffhanger since there's talk of a Part II...Everyone left the theatre wanting to see more and that is a GREAT thing..

The Hunger Games is not a must see but you'll get your monies worth if you do see it...

**Agreed.
`So wow, I was very impressed with the movie. I haven't read the books, but went in with a closed mind (thinking it would be a watered down Battle Royale rip). Plus I was under the impression that it would have the same drawn out, emo-teen, uneventful until the last 20 minutes Twilight feel.

IMO, Hunger Games in one film shits all over the entire Twilight films thus far. It actually held my attention and I was interesting in most of the characters - unlike Twilight.

So ya if anyone is avoiding the film because you think its in the vein of Twilight (the promos don't do it justice & don't let the huge teen girl fanbase throw you off) - its better than Twilight....even if it lacks Lautner.

It has consistent action and interesting storytelling that I felt was actually going somewhere. Looking forward the next film.

Oh and btw I'm a HUGE X-Men fan, but enjoyed Jennifer far more as Katniss than Mystique.

Even thought it was 2.5 hours, it still felt rushed compared to the book. I liked it though

I would like to know HOW are they going to get a p13 for part 2 and 3? I m almost done with book 3 are they going to show the mutts at the end of the story and all the violence when they enter the Capital? Heads will be flying...i can u say..

I'm jealous. Because of my busy schedule I don't have enough time to read the books. Right now I'm halfway through barely the first book! And I can't do it at work because it isn't consistently slow or busy, and I want to have enough time to read at least a whole chapter. The good thing is I work from home, so the small breaks I get in between I try to come here.

I heard a lot of good things about the books, though. Can't wait to read the second one since the first one of course reminds me of the movie, with a couple of noticeable changes.

Oh you have a lot to look forward too..Pres Snow is the most evil character since Emperor from Star Wars..No redeeming character in that old bag of bones.! Pres. Coin is not much better either..stupid bitch she might be more evil then Snow..EVILLLLL!

Ryan Reynolds would be a great choice for Finnick, as would Trevor Donnovan.

The only problem is they're both a tad bit too old for the role. If they hadn't already used his brother Liam, Chris Hemsworth would be the perfect Finnick.

But seeing as they completely screwed up the casting of Peeta with Josh Hutcherson, I expect them to choose someone inappropriate and non-god like, like Zac Efron or some shit.

So...wouldn't that make COIN the most evil character since Emperor from Star Wars?
