Hopefully this year or next year he'll push for it. I hope it passes through Congress too...I know that most republicans, and especially Faux News, will have a hissy-fit about it.

Obama is supposed to talk about DADT in tomorrow's State of the Union address -- it'll be interesting to hear what he says now. As far as the law, Congress needs to pass legislation. I do believe Obama can issue an Executive Order, or similar to have the DoD stop discharge actions.

dude, just do what I would do.....just tell them you can't go out because you have alot of studying to do....or when you're asked about pussy, just say you got a new chick back home and you're trying to "do the faithful thing"

My friend is "openly closeted"....meaning he doesn't admit that he is gay and he denies being gay, but his actions are "more or less obvious" and he doesn't actively try to hide them....what makes it worse is that he works in the CO's office, so everyone has full opportunity to see/interact with him (and spot his homosexuality)...lol

I just fall in line with everyone else, try to keep your gay friends/activities separate from the military. It gets tedious sometimes I know, but it's not that bad. Even if I was 100% straight, I would still keep my "getting pussy" business to myself---so for me it's not that big of a deal. Over the years I think it has gotten a little less uptight though---usually if we knew a guy was gay in our unit, the guys just let him be as long as he is cool/masculine/doing his job and not "pushing his gayness" on any of the other Marines. I know it's sad, but true.

Haha yeah I totally agree. I've already started telling people that I'm seeing some college gal. And then the questions come pouring on...guys can be so damn nosey.

I have a boyfriend, of three years, we live together, have everything together, etc...and I live in a huge college town about 40 miles away from my base, and the clubs are all here...so my supervisor and some guys in my shop already invited themselves over to "go clubbing where I live and crash at my place". I am going to avoid their plans like the plauge. I already told my bf, he understands cause he's former Navy...he said he'd hang out like he's my friend and come along too and sleep in our guest room, but I don't even want them to come up here. I hate straight clubs and I hate faking that I'm into :p. So I'll stick to having a gf back home and being faithful.

haha, yea---you sound like me. My partner and I have been together 3 years also, and we live together too. He is Army so we have no problem using the military as an excuse....but you're right---the guys in the shop can be so inquisitive and suspicious...you have to really be on your "P's and Q's" when dealing with straight guys--sometimes they can be more nosey and dramatic than women.

I used to always go out to str8 clubs with my buddies when I was a young'n...but over time, that naturally fades away anyway becuase as we get older we start getting married and having babies...so I think it naturally happens to everyone that you can't spend as much time with the fellas as you used to be able to. ..|
