Hypocritical Democrats - The Call to Violence

No  It was classless to use "SOB" therefore improper when the POTUS is on the stage. Not to mention the vitriolic language.

Also, president Obama does a good job of being the president of all Americans not just the left leaning ones.

I think it would have gone a long way for POTUS to say something like, "Thanks so much for the welcome, and I love your enthusiasm, I'd just ask you to be a little careful with what you say in the spirit of civility."

^^^

How any times have we heard from Obama, TV personalities, politicians, and others about how we are to tone down the rhetoric and be more accommodating to people of different opinions?

To me it seems like this is just Obama campaigning again and relying on his "thug" Teamsters to wage war -- not serious or sincere about his beliefs.

And yes, CowboyBob, I remember how Keith Obermann attacked Palin and others the night of the Tucson shootings without any proof or reason.

We need to get along.

You might have a point about promoting violence if let's say the Republican county party raffled a gun in the same district that Gaby Gifford's got shot and a little girl died---a raffle fund raiser to win the same gun that was part of the tragedy. Only several months after that tragedy. Then you'd have the right to be outraged. If someone ever did anything this crazy--you could be outraged! Oh yeah, right-- they did something that crazy.

I initially thought there would be reason to post defending the idea that the Democrats need to actually stand up to these rethuglican bullies and fighting fire with fire is okay with me ... especially since Hoffa didnt actually advocate violence but is actually getting the Democratic base warmed up into a frenzy for the battle to come.

this next election will decide a huge path for the US. Just as 08 chose a specific path. If we are not careful we will be no more.

BUT everyone covered that salient points. The tea party has been at this forever and it is working to make a frenzied mindless base BUT it is putting them into office.

The statement is being taken out of context because the republican pussies hurt bad when someone calls them a bad name.... of course when the entire base of their arguments are name calling childish rants.... well it is definitely a pot calling the kettle blacker than black......

So fucking silly.

Republicans. Unbunch Panties. HUT.

Gee I can't help but wonder how this is any different than Eric Canter and his sidekicks campaign, branding themselves as "The Young Guns".

Looks to me like hypocrisy knows no political persuasion.

Knuckle dragging thug:confused:

says the man with a quote from Thomas Jefferson of a by gone day speaking of rulers and the use of violence in the 21st century with muskets and cannon balls in his signature.

Right on Jackaroe.

If you are incapable of discerning the difference between one of the highly intelligent founding fathers of this country and a retarded profane ape of a union leader, sir, you have my deepest sympathies. ..|

Way to go Newcomer!!!!! Something I didn't see in his signature. He is dissing violence while promoting it!!!!

Actually I've provided a quote from Jefferson, nothing more. And I would remind you that it was the democrats who demanded civility especially after the Giffords shooting. They made a show out of "targeting" congressional districts by republicans. But profanity laced speech wherein sons of bitches need to be "taken out" is acceptable.

So, given the presidents abysmal poll numbers, he's understandably reluctant to chastise anyone of the few left who support him. Obama's flak, Carney, claimed Obama never heard Hoffa utter this.

http://thepage.time.com/2011/09/06/carney-says-obama-didnt-hear-hoffa/

Well, now that he's aware of Hoffa's tirade, let's see if he's really interested in civility or the handful of votes that labor can actually deliver. I'll bet he trades civility off in a NY minute.

well i guess its just fortunate that the right wing has people making a living off being instigators of violence.
glenn beck, palin, etc.

when a liberal supporter does it all of a sudden Obama is a hypocrite etc and deserves attention. please....spare me the manufactured outrage.

if you want to be taken seriously offer some real criticism that will help the country, not just rip obama apart at everyone elses expense.

I agree, hyperbolic rhetoric is not very professional and befitting of a man of his position. He's not advocating violence, but he certainly does make himself sound like a bit of an asshole, Jack. So, are we going to get the same acknowledgement from you when the "other side" says something similar?

My question is that if he had said "Let's take these son's of bitches out of office," would the right still be trying to make such a big stink about this?

The man made a very good point in a very unfortunate way that will drown out the message behind his statement. That statement being the modern-day GOP is doing everything it can to destroy the middle class, and return us to the Gilded Era of robber-barons and the impossibility of socio-economic mobility.

EDIT - Any time some knuckle-dragging Tea Bagger rants about "Taking their country back," would it be uncouth for me to reply "Over my cold, dead body?"

Isn't the issue whether or not this is the type of speech we want as a part of our presidential politics? If it is, then it doesn't matter which side employs it; it either connects with their political base or not.

If it isn't, I don't understand why it matters who else has done it in the past. I think we're just saying we should strive for better.

So Mr. Springer, Are you going to get just as outraged and incensed and offended about Charles Koch quoting Saddam Hussein and calling the 2012 election "the mother of all wars"? Where is your thread condemning that "republican call to violence"? I'll bet somehow you guys will spin that to be just fine.

Democrats have really amped up their violent rhetoric as of late.

They have absolutely nothing to run on in 2012 so they need to gin up their fanatical base.

Hoffa epitomizes the term Union Thug. Like father, like son.

Thanks to Andysayshi for providing the actual quote.

This is clearly not a violent phrase. A popular chant, during the 80s, in the UK, at least, was "Maggie, Maggie, Maggie! Out, out, out!" and no one thought that they were talking about assassinating her.

Get over it. Increasingly I find myself seeing Republicans use dirty tactics to try and make the opposition seem as bat shit crazy as them. Its not working. (Dont get me wrong though, the Dems are still crazy. Just not as much as the Reps.)

Yes. And where was Springer's outrage there?

This is a troll thread started by the OP.

Bob, is it appropriate for the man introducing the POTUS to call political opponents "Sons of bitches?"

But I'm not surprised that Obama's lapdog Jay Carney refused to condemn Hoffa's vitriolic remarks. Obama will always be on his knees for the Union Thugs. He needs their money and their votes.

They have absolutely nothing to run on in 2012 so they need to gin up their fanatical base.

Oh really, Laika? How many times have we asked you Conservative JUBers to identify Republican policies and ideas that you believe will improve the economy and put the country on the right track, which were met by complete silence? Too many to count at this point.

But I'll ask again. What affirmative ideas and policies are any Republicans running on that you believe will create jobs and improve the economy? We all know they are running against Obama and can say what it is about them they oppose. What positive policies do they have with which you agree?

I invite all of you conservative JUBers to respond. Prove you aren't just FOX News/tea bagging zombies.

This was nothing more than Fox Propaganda.

James Hoffa's speech was edited by Fox then aired. It was started by Ed Henry. The mindless Grechen Carlson decried Hoffa is advocating violence. His speech was altered by the editing.

Hoffa is right, they're sons of bitches. Roger Ailes is a son of a bitch. They're actually worse.... they're Nazis. Fox is Nazi propaganda.

Springer, you've been pwned.

Shame on you for spreading lies.

Well, that sure shut up the right wingers. I see both laika and Springer ran out of the room.

Springer, will you ask the mods to change the title of your thread to "Fox News edits Hoffa speech to appear he's calling for violence"
