Such beautiful cats. I have to stop looking at this thread for a while because my little guy is approaching the end of his rope and seeing young, healthy cats just makes me feel like shit.

Thanks. It could be worse. His kidneys seem to be holding up but his mind is gone. He's confused but I don't think he's in any physical distress.

He still responds to affection and is eating and sort of going about his routines, but it's getting worse. This one is going to be hard because I've had him since he was 3 or 4 weeks old. He's the closest I'll ever get to having a child.

I can sympathize. When I lost Cat it was very sudden. She was fine one night and the next morning I found her in a catatonic state. It was her kidneys. They were shutting down. I spent a week with her giving her saline but she wouldn’t eat. She had lost her balance and I had to make ramps so she could get on the couch but she’d tumble off. She was losing so much weight she was skin and bones. I had her put to rest. She was suffering. I told my friend that I was going to have to do it, she was standing in between us and looked up at me and meowed like she was telling me it was ok.

I had her for 22 years and she was my support. It took 5 years before I even thought of getting the boys. It was the worst experience I’ve ever had. I’d walk in the house expecting her there for me to pick up. I’d always pick her up and hold her over my head and fly her around the room. She loved it. It hurt for months coming home and she wasn’t there

OMG. My Mom and I are kittie shopping. We went to a rescue center that had over 300 kitties!! It was almost too much, but I'd recommend it for a day when you're feeling down. Just sit down and so many kitties come and visit you. Kittie Heaven! She didn't pick one, it was so overwhelming, but I fell in love several times.

Based on the make of your kitchen appliances, furniture, molding, walls, outside foliage and the angle of the sun I think I can pretty much figure out exactly where you live and then I'm going to steal them both in the night.

If you're lucky I might also clean your oven door for you. It needs it.
